1850 to 1865 navy button... 2 piece converse brass, Scovill Mfg. Thats my guess. You cant really tell from that photo, but the eagle is setting on an anchor and looking to the right as apposed to a General Service button where the eagle looks left and normally has a shield.

The Back of the button is rusted and it is from an area that we find reilcs from the 1840s so it looks like it has been in the ground for a long time. Thanks
