Went out today at the carp hole for 2.5 hours. I was in 3-4 feet of water. Got smarter this time and brought back 3 buckets of coin/gravel mix to sort when I got back. Still did some sorting as I was going.

Quarters 180
Dimes 346
Nickels 205
Pennies 1436

Total 2167 $104.21

Year to date total 14,927 coins $864.00

I got one 1998 Canadian dime that stuck out visibly...What are they made of? Looks similar to silver, but I don't think it is.

3 more rings out of here today but all junk...In 5 years of detecting I have yet to find my first gold ring, but with @15,000 coins and over 1,000 good relics I can't complain.

Hmmmmmm,,,,,, If you can earn over $104 in 2.5 hours; that equates to well over $300 per 8-hour day (almost $42/hr)..... TAX FREE! Not a bad income.

Really enjoy how you are keeping track of every single coin.... and a running count!

Feel fortunate; Canadian dimes & quarters are nickel-plated steel!!! Take a magnet to your Canadian dime.

Just curious, I may have missed the post, but how in the world are you coming up with these coins? Are you using a dredge or what? TMAN...

I am using a large stainless steel water scoop. I then throw the contents onto a floating sifter to pick out the coins from the stone and gravel. It is a unique area on a lake. When I first found it I was getting upset as my detector kept going off on overload...I thought it was a large piece of metal, only to find out it was so many coins that it was overloading. I am working about a 20 foot square area. I started when lake was lowered for a week when I found it and now am working in 3-4 feet of water. 2.5 hours of constant digging and sorting is about all I can stand for one day. I am the only one who has permission to hunt it and it is not accessible from the main lake as it has structures around it.

One year I lived in a rich area the parks were loaded with money and bling. I recovered 2,000.00 in one year and had a five gallon sparklets bottle filled with coins. I use to love parks
