Omega Tones..ques for Tom D.

On the Omega, are the tones processed the same way as the Tek T2.....the T2 tones have several nuances to them that can be applied to differerent searching scenarios.....just wondering if same carries over to the Omega. The reason for asking is because the T2 gain is at its highest when dics is lowest and the Omega's gain is a linear increase from 0-70.

There are some similarities; yet, due to a different operating frequency, filters and a few other factors....... you will find enough of a difference that differentiates the two platforms. In any case, the learning curve is quite easy on the Omega.

Interesting thing about the Omega's tones, or should I say modes. The first two modes (modulated sound, no tones) are noticeably deeper than the tones mode (3 & 4). This is tricky to notice because modes 1 & 2 get softer with depth and modes 3 & 4 are amplified, so it can trick you. Just do an air test or test a deeper target in the field. Modes 1 & 2 are better for depth and 1 seems slightly better than 2 imo.
