Info regarding the rumor of a "revamped" Tesoro Golden umax
January 14, 2013 09:47PM
I posed the question to Tesoros Robert (allcav) on the Findmall Tesoro forum if they were going to ad a manual ground balance on a "revamped" Golden.------This a direct quote from him & answer to my question before the post was closed out.-------"There isn't a new revamped Golden. It is out of production because we are fixing a bug in the programming".--------------So, sorry guys, looks like your desire (and mine) for a manual gb Golden isn't going to come to fruition.----Unless of course we do it ourselves (gb mod).--------Del,

interesting Del...

Not sure what to make of it...

I finally went back and read through the thread on the link in another post...And I did not see where a Ground Bal. was going to be added...Unless it was deleted?

So maybe it is just a glitch problem.

I do wish tesoro would give us a machine built off the Tejon power with a tone option...

I have alwasy liked Tesoro I have owned them for going on a quarter of a century...they unmask great in iron...

The Tejon is the best machine Tesoro build's right now in raw depth and unmasking and with the dual disc even some notching is doable..yet they have went along time without working the platform....Not sure why ...

The last Time I talked to Troy on the phone He admitted He had pushed the depth on His X5 as far as He could...His next step is adding a tone option...

I wish Tesoro would do the same...

They need to address the battery drain on Tejon's too...the performance drops as the voltage drop's...They must not be voltage regulated..?

I wonder if troy will ever get into the detector biz again?

If we keep talking about it maybe they'll actually do it? We finally got a tone change, maybe someday we'll get a ground balance.

I have to wonder though, did this "glitch" affect any machines they have already sold?

They need to get their facts together, or all be on the same page on the info they release. From their official facebook page they answered a person who asked about the golden with this quote "Through further research, we're working on some developments for this unit. You can expect it to return better than ever before too long!" That quote is from the factory. This would be interpreted as they are changing something.

Hey Possum...

Troy seems optimistic...But in this economy I dont think He will release...But you never know?

I have owned Tesoro's since they started producing em. (about 30 yrs) and IMO the Tejon was the worst one on the lot. The one I had, had no depth (5"on a nickle). and Mr. Gifford told me there was nothing wrong with it. All of the other Tesoros were great and IMO the Vaquero was one of the best.

If they add tones on the X-5 I would by one (as long as it got great depth).
Bummer regarding the Tesoro news.

They never said they were adding a GB, that was just a wish.
They said this: "Through further research, we're working on some developments for this unit. You can expect it to return better than ever before too long! "
Now, that sure sounds like some kind of enhancement. Perhaps they are just coving their bases.

Oh, Del, Why start a new thread to answer a previously brought up point? No offense, but it seems like the threads are a bit in dissaray here for months and it makes things harder to follow.

O.K. Albert...

I see now what was being said..LOL!!

sometimes I need to have picture drawn...

Yes a tone Shadow would be great...Troy actually was saying tones and a Mixed mode all metal/disc circuit like a nautilus or MXT...This would push the depth further for user's...

A mixed mode AM with tones would be very very interesting Keith (at least as an option). I learned on a Nautilus and, or course, couldn't appreciate all it had to offer as a first machine. But I remember how the width of the AM side told you about the type of metal. I believe iron had a wider signal?

Really, is there one multi tone machine out there that is really deep? I mean we have a few metered machines, but I can't think of any non metered, so odd...

Now young Albert--don't go gettin "your pantys in a wad" because of my post!-----Despite what you may think, you are not running the show here.------All in the world I was trying to do (and apparently accomplished)---was to find out from Tesoro (by going directly to the source, Tesoro) if there is going to be a manual gb added on the Golden when it comes back in production.-----From the answer received by them, apparently that isn't going to happen (at least at this point in time) .----Many of us have had that on our wish list for years (manual gb), probably before you even started metal detecting.----As Mike said, if we bring it up to the Tesoro company enough, maybe it WILL happen---it did with the "new tones" Golden.-------In any case--I was just trying to share with others here the answer I received from Tesoro.-----------Del

Del - So much for "No offense..." and I wasn't trying to make things personal, hence my honest comment.

Jumping around your name calling all I was saying was: Why not try to keep things a bit cleaner and easier to track regarding threads? If someone starts a thread about a "rumor" or the like, why post the conclusion in a new thread? I'm not trying to run anything, just a comment.

All the best,
Albert
