Italian 14k gold bracelet

Used noise cancel #11, audio gain = 30 with the 18”x15” SEF coil, Pro coil, and the Minelab 8” coil. Sensitivity level varied depending on coil.

Of the 3 days at the beach, only the 1st day produced gold.

Of the only 3 gold finds of 2013, 2 were from a specific area on the beach. So I did a more thorough search of that area. Running manual sensitivity at around 25, got a weak 01 conductivity signal that was very close to two other very low conductivity signals. Initial guess was another tiny piece of non-ferrous metal near the surface, right next to a couple of deeper pieces of small lead. Used the Sunray Target Probe in the first couple of inches of sand, but no signal. Dug deeper into the pocket, and there was part of a chain. Pulled it out, and saw the small rectangular nameplate. The 14k gold bracelet had the typical orange discoloration. One of the other two very low tone signals was a small piece of lead. As for the other signal, I’m guessing that a few of links, conductively touching one another, may have produced the 3rd signal.

ID = inner diameter (in millimeters)
Procoil auto-sensitivity = 16
Rings air-tested with ring parallel to coil, unless otherwise noted

Row Col carat ID grams depth FE-CO max depth description
 1 1 14k -- 5.84 3” 12-01 4.5” nameplate parallel to coil
.5” 12-01 .75” single chain link parallel to coil

Note: The single chain link was done with an end link parallel to coil, while the remaining links and nameplate was held vertically away from the coil.

Here are before and after cleaning photos. This bracelet was in pretty good condition. Used the typical 14k orange colored gold cleaning technique. A few hours in a salt-vinegar solution bath, a baking soda/water paste rubdown, and an hour or so in a tumbler. The only sign of wear was at the hallmark. The “ITALY” was worn down to “ALY”. There was no sign of an inscription.

Here are some of the other finds.
