I liked my all black Fisher F75 SE for a color scheme. Sharp looking detector. I'm with you on camo - got no use for it. Especially when people charge extra for it.

interesting bit of info considering here in the colonies, the (l.t.d.)
"boost" mode is very desirable when paired with the 5" dd coil.
runs very quiet with minimal (e.m.i) interference..."outrageous" depth too!
i'm just sayin'

maybe the camo helps to "hide" the instrument from those who would
disparage the hobby!..you could say it's a new type of trash picker upper.

You know that the new F___ from fisher is going to cost over a grand and will it be worth it with the Deus out on the market?

Maybe it will trump the Deus,... ya never know.

It could trump the Deus in several areas. Additional coils should be 'normal' price, unlike the Deus, as I think it unlikely the Fisher coils will have electronics/etc in them. And there will likely be a small coil, eg. 5 inch, available, too. And it might run for 30 hours on 4 x AA cells. And dual-frequency operation would potentially give it the edge in more troublesome ground. Whether it will have the edge based on cost depends where in the world you are. You US guys will get Fisher products cheap, here in the U.K, they end up costing 40% more. Though XP's products, including the Deus, are far from cheap here.
All just speculation....

If the rumors are true I can see an updated F75 being better than a Deus. I don't feel my current F75 with 5 inch coil is too far behind the Deus for hunting pounded out sites.

XP don't appear to have any patent on the simple type of "tone-ID all-metal" mode they use on the Deus/GMP/GMAXX machines. It's not inconceivable that Fisher or any other manufacturer offer that mode as just another menu option.

Fisher moves slow but the next one after the F____ will be something that will get a lot of people interested in wanting and having to have one...that doesn't mean the Deus is working on software to give us something new also...All they have to do is update the control or make a new one that we buy for about $500.00 Just think if you want to hunt the way you are use to you use the control that came with it... if you want to turn it into a TDI you snap on a new controler...

from a "build" perspective,in MY opinion would have to say " no".however
THAT is NOT the only criterion used to determine overall value of a detector.
