I had one years ago, never kept it very long, liked the 1265 better. I think it had good depth an was better in iron.

I used one for around a year they are a pretty deep machine. I found a few CW bullets over 10" with it. I never used it for coins but I'm sure it would find them. The weight of it is why I got rid of it. I'm going to agree with Keith on better machines being out there. I liked the weight and balance of the 1266x better and as far as depth the 1270 and 1266x were on the same page.

I sent a 1266 in last year for calibration. Felix said as long as the battery box was good (they have no replacement parts) they could calibrate it. I don't know about replacement boards and such, but, they can still calibrate them.

Pacman,

My advice would be to give that one a skip and think about another model.
Heavy, clunky, loves iron, in all my years testing all makes AND models, I hated that one the most, followed by the F2...
Nowadays, Fisher & Teknetics are making some really brilliant and light machines.
For example, G2, F 19, F 75, T2 Ltd etc

Just my 2c worth!

I remember years ago at a planted hunt where I picked one up from a dealer who had a tent at the hunt and the weighting and ergonomics were atrocious 1266 may have been the best ergonomic weighted unit in the Fisher line and now the 1270 was just the opposite so buying one never entered my mind...Reports I have read have been mixed and
definetly not a winner in my mind or for Fisher...
