1850s/60s Field Digs, Cows, Mud and the CTX w/6" Coil grinning smiley

Hey all,

the rain was relentless last night (must have rained an inch or more) and so the fields were muddy today!

Got out to one of the last fields I know that's not been planted yet (farmer dude is lazy)!

Met some cows and dug some goodies grinning smiley

I started out to make a video of the CTX w/6" coil in this machine-gun iron infested field site that I've hunted in the past but due to circumstances (the mud) it prevented me from doing much more than diggin and even that was extremely painful as you will see via the pics I managed below! lol

Pulled a few keepers in the 2 hrs I spent plodding thru the mud!

Best of the best = 1861 fatty, 1863 business card, and a eagle coat button cool smiley

The rest is as shown/nothing too exciting...

Hope You'all are getting out and diggin too thumbs down

Michigan, I really enjoy you posting your finds. I hope everyone here appreciates the time you take to snap the pics, download to your photo host and repost here.

Thanks Go-Reb

you forgot a step though = "editing" the pictures (resizing, adjustments of light, focus, etc) before uploading them to the hosting site and/but that's the REAL time consuming/work in all of it!

Yeah - don't know about that "young" thing there so much Jack!

I guess if being born in 1963 is "young" = then so be it! lol

Ahh yes... I should have remembered that given what we need to do to prepare photos for Ebay.

Nah - don't shave too much other than the face here Ray (don't have to) grinning smiley

And yeah - I wear ankle socks and low cut boots cuz I don't have to deal with any of those fuggin snakes you'all have to deal with down south/out west thumbs up

Here's the other side of the token (they were made/produced in 1863) as most other CW tokens were and/but are fairly common = Rarity: 2 -- J.W.Peirce was the son in law of Amos Roberts, issuer of the MI370K tokens, which shared many of the same scarce reverses, but not this one. And as "dug" = they're not worth much -- maybe $10 for a decent looking one. Non dug in xf/au cond. maybe $35/$45

We find these in fields/etc. around here occasionally (I find at least 1 per yr on avg.) of THIS particular issue/type...
