Not true, hammered silvers start at 22-23 here in the UK, Celtic gold quarters fall into the same range.

It is pre-decimal silver that falls into the higher numbers.

Sorry to have to say this , but this is pure generalization.
Well in the UK it certainly isn`t the case.
Of course as in any country ,you will get to and froing of detectors by detectorists, due to undecidedness, and uncertainty, but to make a statement that detectorists are going back to the E trac as in mass as it `appears` you implying is pure speculation WITHOUT 100% proof of it being a fact. Yes!! the odd one or two here and there might be but who`s to say a bit further on down the line they won`t change again from an E trac?
I`ve owned an E trac and I certainly won`t be going back to it thats for sure.
I also know many other detectorists that`s owned an E trac and won`t be in any rush to return to it.
The reason any one returns to an E trac has to be surely that psychologically, its acclaimed as the deepest detector out there other than a GPX 5000 or a pulse. Given this in psychological thinking ,you must be missing those coins that the other detectors are not getting, so the logical thing to do is return to the deepest seeking detector.Or so it seems.
But!! as we all know , not all coins are at the greatest depths. So you have to balance up surely if its worth the return to the acclaimed deep seeking detectors to get those few coins at the deeper levels. This is good for one reason only. and that is searching in "undisturbed" soils. Then yes, you will stand a better prospect of getting the deep coins . but how often do you find DEEP coins compared to shallower coins ?
Most coins if left to fall "naturally" will fall according to their weight.
Its not rocket science to fathom out that bigger coins will fall deeper naturally than lighter smaller coins. But getting them is another thing. Your fighting Mineralization , and depth, often coupled with lots of trash strewn around to mask your hunting which coupled together is no easy peazy matter of finding the deep coins. A lot of People think that the sums add up if you want to find the deep coins so buy the deepest seeking detector out there. . How many have done this and soon realized that its certainly not the case. They forget one very important requirement," Experience in the field ",and without this, unless the coins are very near the surface, you still won`t get the deepies, even with the costliest and deepest detector .
The better road to travel is to get a detector thats got a good reputation ,and learn it inside out. Then your in with a better chance than the guy who swaps and changes on a regular basis ,and even with the dearest and deepest acclaimed detector , still won`t find the deep coins, anywhere near as often as the expirienced guys even with middle of the road detectors.
Practice and expirience, is King.

Looks like a gentleman from San Francisco has a new Deus in his possession. Here is his 11minute "unpacking" video. I imagine if you follow his channel you'll see more videos from him (edit - he said he would post some in the field videos.). He did mention that sometime next year Deus might set up a distributor in America! (They did include an American charger, so it's believable).

Another video (10mins) from the same gentlemen up in San Francisco. [www.youtube.com]
This one he is testing the conductivity numbers on American coins and then at the end does a reactivity test. It does extremely well. Hopefully he does a real world test next time.
The downer is that it ID's bottle caps the same as quarters so Deus users are going to have to find a method of id'ing the caps. (e.g - rear coil swipe?). Another person on the forum suggested swiping the target in another frequency and at 90 degrees. Using the different frequencies is a nice aid in general users say (e.g - to help in iron ID as it hits differently).

Another video, only 1 minute (in Dutch?), showing how fast this detector is, really amazing. [www.youtube.com]

I assume that there will not be optional coils for this unit due to its design. If so they will be very expensive. Just something to think about for those who like the big and smaller coils.

They are releasing a large coil, I think 13" starting next month or so. There are no plans for an 11" coil. The stock coil is 9" and gets very very good depth.
The coils will be very expensive, like 400 Euro or so for the new large coil (Yes, very bad design imo. They should have just made wireless headphones). That said, this detector doesn't really need a smaller coil as the reactivity speed is incredibly fast and the 9" coil seems to do fine in trash. But this is in the European market.
