Thanks for the kind words SN, and thanks for the restaurant review. I long ago figured out which of the Calabash places he was associated with and the reviews were very good. I hope to visit some day with and AQ and meet Cal and enjoy the very special Calabash style shrimp, oysters and flounder.

Now, CDB, with your permission, we’re pals again.
I ain’t “pushing” nothing. I worked my buns off for three years because I believed that Alexandre Tartar - by virtue of working day and night for MANY years had made some of Eric Fosters ambitions for the utility of a two channel PI detector into a an amazing beach jewelry hunter. I have never wavered in the hope. That hope has turned into a be

Hey CBD - what the heck do you call this - you wrote...
“ As for the poor ole Rick crap just remember he CHOSE to get involved and promote this thing all over the forums for the last few years.”
I consider that personal - maybe down where you come from it ain’t, but in Bexar County TX where I was raised 70 or so years ago, we might consider it “Quires Combate” talk.

Doesn’t work that way - high conductors and ferrous targets are all on the “high” side in discriminate and give a low tone.
In fact, even in all metal, a tiny gold ring is detectable way deeper than a US silver dollar - I tried it.
Sorry, you will just have to find gold.

To address the original question....
Yes, parts of this thing are in fact hand built, including especially the coils. One minor error in wrapping the conductors can make the hole coil useless. Every AQ unit is end item tested for compliance in its completed form. Pressure, performance on test targets in every operational mode - the works. Just like every other detector out there ....NOT.

For gold it will be more efficient than GPX
For the silver the GPX should be more efficient than IMPULSE AQ
The innovation is above all that the IMPULSE AQ can detect the whole range of gold jewelry without losing much depth in MASKING IRON MODE (TONE / MUTE / VOLCANIC)
If we had wanted to make a coinshooter with a PI, we would have had to digitize the detector and I would have spent a lot

TNSS - I seem to remember that your BIG hobby is archery, and if I remember right, you are a competition winning participant. With that level of involvement, you are probably well aware of the Manufacturer, distributor, dealer price buildup and the percentages along the way. Might be fascinating if you posted all you know about that, then we can have a nice chat about how I am doing this for “Pea

Waterproofing can be done with gaskets or with adhesives. The CZ-21, CTX, Excalibur all use gaskets. The Equinox is sealed with adhesives or plastic welding of some kind. The control box cannot be disassembled without destroying it. This was clearly demonstrated in a Russian video just after the Nox was launched.
It is a perfectly valid method of construction to obtain watertight integrity. Th

Now that I have gotten that off my chest, let me tell you how the AQ is doing. The 8th unit shipped to a buyer yesterday and I expect the production rate to ramp up in the near future.
The main reason for only having one dealer is to centralize the monitoring of the “voice of the customer”.
The sharing of experience and learning is proceeding rapidly on a private sub-forum elsewhere. All o

Well, CBD is entitled to his opinion. I guess it would be fascinating to see what would happen if he took that opinion Word for Word and posted it over on Steve Herschbach’s forum where he is a member under the name calabash.
Maybe Tom is OK with personal attacks and with somebody urging people not to buy a certain Detector from a major manufacturer because it’s a sham....permitting rude and a

Not enough money in. Too much money out.
Solution for the family owners (who likely bear a good part of the responsibility for the money out part) - Stop spending on producing that you don’t make money on producing Dash put aside some funds to allow an outside contractor to continue to do repairs, and try to sell the whole mess for whatever you can get.

I probably ought to address one issue that was raised in a post on a different thread when I posted similar information to what I started this thread with.
The guy who posted it – one of our “regulars” - alleged that it would be necessary to “osculate Rick’s gluteus maximus” in order to get on the buyers list for the AQ limited.
Not an entirely surprising allegation - considering the sourc

A post by TNSS on the thread about Whites going out of business Made me realize that I probably ought to post something in a new thread about the distribution of the Fisher Impulse AQ limited.

TN - thanks for the segue..
My “charter” and the whole rationale for having a sole source for the AQ Limited launch was to ensure that all relevant feedback from the 100 or so users would be captured and evaluated in order to “nourish” the development of other devices in the Impulse series.

The “I know it all, had they done what I told them to do” crowd here are the main reason that this forum has fewer significant contributions every month.
Folks who value clear discussion and thoughtful contributions of hard-won experience eventually tire of constant sniping and aggression.

Ivan, Good luck and good hunting!
You do raise an interesting issue however. You propose to get one from a “less biased” dealer. For the Impulse AQ limited - good luck with that – I am the only dealer.
Having said that - when the fully developed a AQ is available it will no doubt be marketed worldwide by First Texas Products through their network of dealers and distributors.

Ivan, send me a picture of you in front of a recognizable Oregon landmark with a copy of that day’s local newspaper in your hand and we’ll talk - it’s called a “proof of life” or in your case”proof of location”.
Until then, you ain’t getting one no matter how loud you complain.

The nugget hunting version of the impulse – which I’m betting will be called the Impulse Gold – will not have the same sort discrimination function as the AQ. The two channel analysis of return signals will be used to provide a wide ranging ground balance function as opposed to being aligned in such a way that it can provide the kind of limited discrimination that the AQ provides.
