Waterproofing can be done with gaskets or with adhesives. The CZ-21, CTX, Excalibur all use gaskets. The Equinox is sealed with adhesives or plastic welding of some kind. The control box cannot be disassembled without destroying it. This was clearly demonstrated in a Russian video just after the Nox was launched.

It is a perfectly valid method of construction to obtain watertight integrity. There is a price to be paid however, the unit cannot be repaired. Should it turn out that the units fail in service - either through flooding or internal failure of some sort, they are kaput. Warranty replacement works fine and is probably cheaper than disassembly, diagnosis, repair and re-sealing would be. Unfortunately, post-warranty failures may make the unit effectively unrepairable for the user, depending on the cost of a new control box.

The Deus control unit is detachable and therefore losable - my friend lost his on a beach. The replacement was around $500.
