I bought the 800 for water hunts. I was rethinking that though after seeing more water intrusion issues popping up. I have not had my 800 in any water. I only have 4 hours of land use and now have a button issue. The button issue and Pod flooding stories has now made me rethink my decision to buy the 800. Here is a short video of my problem and what the ML service told me.

Anytime you slap a newly designed decal on an old machine then call it new is just wrong. More like being lazy to me..... Whites sold machines on the name alone and forgot to look into the future. They got too far behind and could never catch up. I really think the MXsport was their tipping point. I mean we all were rooting for Whites to bust out with a lightweight, waterproof multi frequen

I agree with the path Garrett is moving. However they shold

Well I love the look of the machine as seen on youtube. I do think it falls short on two things. #1 - Why tough a multi frequency salt water feature but make it "rainproof"? #2- I see they are using the same stubby Ace arm cuff rod that is too short for a lot of users. Looks like I need to resurrect the Gizmos?

Back when the MXsport was released and I had nothing but trouble with mine and 3 I had sold. One Whites engineer on the phone said the machine was up-gradeable through downloads. He said they were thinking a

You need a minimum of 3 machines to cover most hunting types and situations. Just don't put them altogether where your wife can criticize... I made that mistake. She said "why would anyone need more than 1 detector?" Nobody wants to put up with that........ Oh I could have said something about the 20 pair of shoes of a dozen purses..... But I just said I would sell the extras a

Whites has been doing this for years. They told us small dealers we couldn't advertise on the internet but let K-Co do it. This allowed K-Co to sell direct to my neighbor cutting me out of sales. They also received the first shipments as well. This is one of the main reasons Whites went down.
As far as the Vanquish goes it's kind of scary putting that economical powerhouse in

I wouldn't put it past Dilek to read some of the upcoming USA posts and make some firmware tweaks in the near future..........Single digit notching?? I mean by the time spring gets here the Simplex could be a simultaneously multi frequency beast for all we know! BTW - I'm working in Jeff City so when you get the Simplex let me know? We can hit the park and I can test drive the mach

I'm not well versed on the Nox. I think Craig and Bill said the ground was a little hot and maybe that's why Craig was running in beach mode? My etrac really couldn't care less about the ground matrix there.... I agree about it sounding like a good target on the Nox. I just got my coil over it first. I'm happy I did too!!

I found a pretty deep silver that Craig from showmetreasure.com and Bill_S checked with their machines. Craigs Nox found it fine but the numbers were jumpy 24-32.
Here is my version of the dig -
Here is Craigs version of the same target with the Nox -

My F19 was a nickel killer at depth. It had the best, most stable and accurate target ID of any Fisher I owned or used. I always said if they should have made a waterproof version.

I really loved my 4.5 inch Garrett Sniper coil. But I really felt like a 6 inch coil worked about the same except hunting bullets in creeks. So maybe a 3.5 x 5 or 6 would be the best of both worlds. It will fit into crevices and also cover a little more ground. It would make a nice nugget coil as well since the Simplex has an expanded GB feature.........

I think this type of design is here to stay. From a manufacturers view it's easier to incorporate all the guts including the battery in a single pod. There's a lot more engineering (cost) to move the battery elsewhere other than part of the control head. Plus waterproofing more connections and such.. To me the obvious place to put the battery is in the grip. Otherwise you have waste

I agree.... I believe Quest was first publicly showing this design around 7 years ago? So who copied who? Actually it doesn't matter one bit. Lets face it we all swing machines that have a round or out of round thing on the end of a stick with some kind of control thingy attached up above that we can make tickle with out fingers that will make it scream.

Found a video of the Simplex on a salt beach. There are several targets in the wet sand and water. It's hard to tell how deep the targets were but the machine was quiet and looked impressive.

For me having a waterproof detector means more that just a submersible machine. It also means dust proof and rainproof. I also feel that the construction is more engineered and of better quality. However the price point of the V340 at just $199 will now put in the masses hands a Multi IQ machine that will hunt better than 90% of the machines sold. Plus reap the rewards of wet salt beach hunting

Thanks Tom.. I was really confused when on a video a rep said the VanQ's beach mode was based on the EQ and it performed the same on the beach. Looks more like a non waterproofed EQ than an upgraded Xterra now.
