In enhanced mode out of 100 nickels my 5" coil identified all 100 nickels as nickels. My 8" identified 68 as nickels and 32 as tabs. Is this normal for the 5" coil ??

I'm in shock! The Dime we all hunt for. I found it night before last night with my Fisher CZ-3D in an old football field.I have not cleaned it.
I found the dime at night and it went in my pouch, didn't know what I had until I got home. This is one of those sites that drive detectors crazy. Tons of rusty nails that like to give a good 2 way signal. I had the 5" coil on to try and ge

Gold strike is 30 kHz. It does disc.out iron targets. I use it in

Gold machines are the way to go in the chips,I use a Gold Strike.Foil isn't as bad as you might think.Really small chains are no problem. I can hit earring backs at 5".I can't get as close to the metal poles as I wouuld like, just to sensitive.I still need to try it in the dirt.

Mine never goes to an iron tone on a dime no matter how I set it up. I either get a good solid high tone or nothing. I lose a dime signal at about 11". I never dig nails and there are lots where I search. Well,I have dug some nails with a coin in the same spot.

That was my experiance with the F-75.I sold mine.
My son and I hunted an area hard with both of us using F75's. I bought a 3D and went to the same spot and found over 200 coins. My son tried my 3D and now his F75 is for sale.

The 3D is the detector I spent 20 years and a bunch of money looking for. It blows me away every time I hunt with it. Every other detector I had (including My F75)has been sold because they were not even close to my 3D.

I have both CZ-3D and F75. The F75 isn't close to the 3D in areas with lots of iron, bad ground or EMI.There are areas that My F75 is just not usable. The 3D is MUCH deeper in this Oregon Ground.
Try this: Put some small nails around a quarter and try both the 3D and F75.
I have never had a detector that locks on to deep targets like my 3D. I've only had the 3D about a month and the F75

The 2:00 position appears to be the same as disc 0.
The 3D is the best detector I have ever used in iron infested sites, and I've tried most you can name.
I have exclusive permission to search one of the oldest Universities on the west coast. The ground is FULL of iron. 7 or 8 iron hits on each swing. Saturday (my first hunt with the 3D) I recovered 236 coins in a 20'x20'spot! 3

Thanks for the reply. Nope, AutoTune is indicated where it should be and does get the threshold hum. There is a position above this,at 2:00, that is a discriminating mode, Iron is disc in.
The knob points directly at 6 in the fully clockwise position. There are a total of 9 positions on the pot. Strange?

Just got a new CZ-3D and have some questions.
When using "pushbutton" method to ground balance does the machine have to be in the enhanced mode? Mine g/b's fine if in enhanced but won't g/b in the salt mode. Is this normal?
The "Disc" control has more postions then are talked about in the manual or marked on the front panel. Rotating the knob fully counter clock
