For the F75, Bushmasters which were designed by Clyde McFadden, are hands down the best headphones that I've ever used with it - and I tried a lot of different headphones over the years. Still use them today. A distant second for me would be Killer Bs

Thank you SkiWhiz for the note back. I understand; before the Deus, I never owned a wireless set of headphones. Hope all is well with you.

SkiWhiz, I’m not the person who asked but I have a set of Vance Headphones for the Dey’s that won’t work at all and a set that has a problem with the audio in one ear. I’d love to get both repaired - they work great for me. I’d send you a personal message but for some reason can’t get the feature to work from my phone. I look forward to hearing back from you if this is something you can and ar

Tabman, I've never met you and have not idea where or even what state you are talking about. But I do admire and applaud you for your ethics. There's far too many people in this hobby who put finding a coin or relic ahead of doing what is right, and by doing so cause those of us who do try to do the right thing to be denied permission. You are welcome to relic hunt with me anytime.

I ordered a NEL coil for my Fisher F19 detector, and just received it. The tag on the coil says it is for "Omega, Gamma, Delta, Alpha, G-2 and Eurotek PRO". No mention of G19 or any other Fisher for that matter. I can't connect with the dealer I bought it from. Is this the right coil for a F 19? Hoping to give it a try before the week is out. Thanks!

I agree 100% with Daniel TN. A Thermocell strapped to your belt or relic pouch will absolutely work wonders with keeping mosquitos away while you relic hunt, fish, bow hunt etc.

Shenandoah Digger and Daniel TN, thank you both for the advice. It gives me a solid starting point, and is much appreciated. Will post after the hunt and let you know how it went

I've got the opportunity to hunt a couple of days in Virginia next month, and I understand most of the places we will be hunting is in the famous Virginia hot dirt. I have two metal detectors, the F-75 camo model with boost, and the F-19. I understand these are not the first detectors of choice, but my pocketbook simply does not make buying a detector for a couple of days of relic hunting

Confederates were not as quick to dump cartridge boxes as the Union soldiers, who had just about unlimited ability to resupply cartridges, buttons, beltplates, etc. While this is hard to believe, in some Confederate camps in South Carolina, I've found more CS buttons than bullets!

I use the F-75 LTD almost exclusively, and I've tried the CL mode more than just in passing. However, I really struggle to pick up good target signals in CL, particularly in sites with even moderate iron. So put me down as "tried but don't use"

Fisher F 75 LTD SE, hands down for target separation in trash and raw depth in other situations. Owned 14 different detectors since 1987, and if I could only have one, this is it

As some of you will recall, I sought opinions on what detector to get for my young grandson's first detector. I got a number of great suggestions - thanks again everyone for your help - and ultimately went with the Fisher F-44 detector. Had his birthday last week, and have been able to take him on a couple of coin hunts at a nearby park. For whatever reason, this park is not hit hard by c

JT, you are right about liability being a concern for many landowners. In some ways, I have an advantage, because I am a landowner myself, and when they bring liability up, I can instantly relate similar concerns I have about giving folks permission for various activities. A few other ways I've successfully countered include showing the landowner proof that I have personal liability covera

Anyone who hunts on land without permission. Anyone who does not cover their holes, even in plowed fields. People who leave trash behind, even if they bury it. People who abuse permission given by coming to a site way too much or bringing way too many people. People who willingly trespass because they want to find relics or coins to sell, and who feel "so what" if I get caught. TV

Thanks everyone. I've narrowed it down to one of the First Texas detectors in that price range (F-44) or the Tesoro Vaquero. I'm a long time Fisher guy, so leaning that way. I really appreciate all the responses; gave me a quite a bit to think about.

Is the Ultimate 13 inch coil you are touting the same one that is advertised for an F 75? I can not find one for sale that states it is for the F19. Thanks!

Any thoughts on a "starter detector" mostly for coin hunting? Only sidebar is that it costs less than $500. He's shown a real interest in detecting, and I want to encourage that interest. Thanks!

jimmyjiver, thank you for the answer - makes sense and much appreciated.
Doc, let me say right up front I'm not getting the depths some detector users are reporting but I am getting an honest 1 to 1 1/2 inches increased depth on air tests with the upgraded F75 on multiple targets. This is with both detectors (original F75LTD and upgraded F75 LTD) set on BP, sensitivity 99, disc 0, using

Just got my upgraded F75 back last week and took it for a trial run on Saturday. My initial impressions are very good; I am particularly impressed by how loud small good targets sounded with the upgraded F75 - the audio is really improved. Stable quiet running, and better results on depth in air tests over the original F75 LTD. Did not hunt with the FA process yet, so no opinions there. But a

After reading Kevin's post on liking the F-19 more and more, and that he had great results with his 11 inch G2 coil, I have to ask - has anyone used an F-75 coil on the F-19? My F-75 is getting the upgrade, but I'm thinking I might have to try the coil swap when I get it back.

with stock 5 x 10 coil, and same settings as you used, I get slightly over 9 inches with a strong repeatable signal on a clad dime. Just under 10 inches with a clad quarter.
