Apart from the apps stuff, touch screen, etc, the first thing that I'm interested in is to know how the "square concentric " coil will work in the field, and especially on nail-infested sites.
In theory, I suppose the design of these coils (actually two : 8 & 10 ") will allow more depth c/w round concentrics of equivalent diameter (the "inner coil" is larger),

Sorry for unearthing this thread (I prefer to unearth good targets !).
I just bought a second-hand Golden µMAX. These detectors are thin on the ground here in Europe.
It's a "revision 2" unit with "new

To answer the very first question : No, you're not the only one. Me too, I'm not a fan of the DEUS.
I have to add that I'm a fan of metal detectors more than of the finds I make with them. I had the chance, here in Europe, to use/own/borrow Something like 55-60 different metal detectors, even testing a Discovery/C Scope prototype.
I tried a friend's DEUS, and I persist

Hi all !
I usually unearth coins & jewelry instead of forum posts, but after all, the Eurotek was made to be used in European conditions, and that's what I do! Icing on the cake, I have been swinging a Goldbug Pro for almost three years now, so I thought I could chime in and put my two (euro)cents in the discussion.
The Eurotek lacks a user-GB setting, nothing to worry about as far

Well, I wish you to be succesful with it !
Once again, it's not a race car, but it IDs gold rings better than many oher units.
That being said, but coming at another price tag, there is also the Tesoro De Leon.
With this unit, every single bit of PURE iron will read ZERO, and every US silver and clad will read 95.
That leaves 94 segments for "unconventional" targets, B

Hi all,
I use the Time Ranger in it's P1 mode (iron & foil notched out) when I C & J hunt on dry sand.
You can accept the foil range (and 4 iron segments named ir 1 to ir 4) in the target mode. I do not look for gold in the foil range, because I just have better units for this part of the conuctivity scale, plus the foil trash is much more complicate to saparate from good t

Hi from Ole EU !
I'm new here, and have been reading this forum for a while.
To the question asked in this thread, I have an answer many won't like...
I have been an avid beach hunter for 20+ years now, and never cared too much to find gold rings on dry sand. There are two reasons for that : 1°) too much trash, too many pulltabs, older "ringpulls" etc etc - 2°) our cu

The last trick I tried with my Quattro is to make the armrest band shorter an rest the elbow UPON it,
It works a bit (different grip angle), but still, my arm can't stand it too long.
Minelab has been wrong with those designs for years, people have been inventing and ... exploring lol different ways to make the detectors lighter, and Minelab just watch and won't listen to their

Many manufacturers tend to offer MOTION all metal mode nowadays, probably to give digital TID in AM.
I want the no motion AM mode back ! And of course, MANUALLY ground balanced.
That is sufficient to unmask goodies hidden in nail carpets.

@ Connortn :
I am pretty sure that your iron flakes are some kind of an alloy with a majority of iron (bottecaps parts or something of that kind).
I am also pretty sure that these would have been correctly IDed in the dry sand, that is with a completely different GB setting (80+).
I never ground balance my Goldbug Pro on the dry sand : I leave it at factory setting and get, at least it

I think that one can forget micro jewelry and thin gold on wet salt sands, and especially when the detector has got some kind of automatic tracking GB. Might be wrog, tough, but I'm still to be proven the contrary...
The GT will false when the sens is too high, but I can live with that for a while.
Sometimes I hunt in all metal pinpoint, where most of the iron can be Ided by ear, add

Although I absolutely hate the concept/design of the DEUS, I must admit this is one of the best I ever had in my hands.
I did not buy one, but spent some time in the field (actually at the beach) with a friend's unit.
Give me one with a battery case and a wired searchcoil, and i'd buy it subito presto !
Cheers

Hello !
Cherry picking is part of the game ! Sure like it too for modern coinage !
But with the AT PRO, how do you do it ? Notching out segments, or relying on the two digit ID ??
Cheers
