Did a little testing today at one of my hunt sites. The soil is soft black woods dirt until you get to the 5 inch mark then your in a soft sandy clay. I dug a 8 lnch hole and put in a quarter and refilled the hole. Put the racer in two tone mode and left the gain at 70 id filter at 10 ground balanced at 68. Past the coil over the ground and.....nothing ! upped the gain a little to 80 and reground

The canal here has been abandon since it's closure back in the mid 1800's. Private property now and land owner allows us to hunt there. It's a beautiful area along the river nice and away from any other places. About a mile back in the woods.

ok guys had the red racer out for a test spin today along the old PA canal. Lots of iron chatter but managed to pull out a few keepers. Got 2 pewter buttons with I hooks on back a pewter spoon a wedding band and a rivet from horse tack and a belt buckle. What I did find was bigger Iron that was deeper always gave a good tone with good ID's of 83-84 most of the time saying it was a inch or so

Has anyone tried this yet on their racer and is there indeed added depth in 3 tone mode closer to that of 2 tone? What was the difference between the two with the improvement ?

Been looking at the racer for awhile now and went to a local detector shop to see one. Seems like a lot of bang for the buck hanging in there with T2'S and F75'S. Why is there so many for sale. Seen a few on here that were sold. Is there a reason or problem why there being unloaded ? Like to know before I spend the cash on one.

Took the AT Pro out for it's first real spin today. Hit a spot that I hammered for years. Me and about 1000 other people..lol Any how with in 5 minutes of searching I got a hard hit in the 80's . The signal was loud and clear. From about four inches out came a 1940 Merc. About 10 feet from that one out came a 1920 Merc. Man these silver coins hit hard the second one was about 6 inch

The reason I did the test is because on one of the video's that was made from Garrett had a guy holding a nail or screw and got the vid number when he passed it under the coil and ran the iron disc up until it knocked out the nail. Then he held a coin and the nail together and got a higher vid number with both targets together and also a audio response which he said was because the detector

I have a yogurt cup buried in my yard for my little girl to putt her golf balls in. So I thought I'd give the AT PRO a try at finding a coin under the nail. I ground balanced the detector and set it in custom pro mode with iron disc set at 31. The nail I used rings in at 32 which I also tried during the test. The cup is about 4-5 inches deep. I placed a dime in the cup and placed the nail o

When hunting in iron trash with the AT PRO how do you guys tell the difference between the Low high low tone and just a good target that is beside or under a nail or something. I have been fooled a few times with thinking I had a good target in Iron when in fact it was just the low high low tone. Do good target's give a steady tone even if a nail is near it ?

My friends and I ordered 6 AT PRO'S just about two weeks ago and none of us are having the problems that were reported on the early models. You can pick it up twist it shake it scrub the ground and no problems. I don't think this would be the first detector to be made that was a new release to have unseen problems. I'm sure there were others. But I do know these new ones seem to be
