Kevin,
Before you send it anywhere switch the coils and/or batteries. Sounds like a coil?? This just might resolve the issue.
I've had Keith work on many units over the years. He is reasonable and meticulous from my experiences and fair priced. BUT.... don't get in a hurry because it might just take up to 6 months to get it back as he stays swamped...

Hey Keith,
Good finds and a change for you coin hunting. The sad thing is you found probably about 5% or less what's actually there of the goodies where you hunted. Severe handicap with that much metal in the ground masking and bleeping back at you. But that's my kind of place. The goods are in the junk!

One not mentioned. Teknetics Mark 1. One of the most accurate analog meters of all time and just splendid audio-ATI (Audio Target Identification). Wonder where we'd be if George didn't go to the commercial side?

In regards to George Payne---the micro Mark 1 is not dead yet! Recently spoke with a friend of his that communicates with him often. Will say though as most are aware the product development and production cost would not be cheap. And George is not getting any younger.
As Aaron said probably the best analog meters ever made. A unigue design about the Mark 1 is that a fringe depth target do

Ron,
Tested mine a few times. Same senario. After 10 minutes only a double beep before turning off. Didn't try it though in default mode. Only vibrate and beep mode. Initially was having trouble with it ratcheting itself active within 15-20 seconds to try this test. It's very sensitive and at one point thought it had an EMI issue indoors. It certainly air tests strong.

Seems to be a fact that with increased sensitivity comes increased instability! As alluded to by Chris. There were batch inconsistencies across the board same as the CZ 3D's. Had an 1129 that was such a poor performer had to sell it locally and not on any forum. Wouldn't air test a dime to 9". Chris might remember that one as he wrote me about it and I told him he don't w

Had the opportunity today to see and air test White's new Bullseye TRX pinpointer. Quite impressed. Well made. Has ability to turn off audio and just use vibrate. Auto shutoff. 12 KHz. Also has automatic ground balance. Why might one ask? This thing is hot!
Based on what I've seen this will soon be in my arenal. It will be a major seller. Look out Garrett!

I'm with Keith. They used a stick to find the first can? Erosion?? Not buying it.
But makes one wonder how many ARE silent about their finds! I'm sure back then most of the time there was one person who knew the hiding place. If something happened to them it's still in the ground!

There was a used GMP there for $500 pounds. Believe Ray is refering to the other one as there had been two. The prices were listed Keith. I've eyeballed them awhile.
The predecessor is the Goldmaxx Mark 1. Then the low frequency units are the GMaxx and now GMaxx 2. I'd like to see feedback on the GMaxx. Heard it is deep on silver coins but expect it would be limited in unmask

Ray,
It's my understanding you can buy new or used from overseas but no one can sell new ones here inside the states legally. I suspect they would contend it is sold as used if it isn't legal to ship here. Maybe someone will chime in that has bought a new one.
At this site a new GMP is $559 pounds + $45 pounds shipping or $999.62 USD shipped. I do prefer the original rod setu

This site has new ones for what he is selling good used ones for although haven't found anyone as a reference. But good prices at 24% off currently.
Paul might check this out before you pull the trigger. I do not like the Deus shaft set up though. I'm still looking.

Sorry HH, Possum. Went back and caught that you did receive a 6" coil and at max settings in BP mode hit a silver dime at 14". Quite impressive. What threw me out initially on this unit was it was in Russian. Possibly one to add to the arsenal.

I second Tom's statement about air test depth and it appears with the 6" coil it hit that small silver coin (smaller than a dime at about 35cm) Or....about 13.75".
If legitimate this unit is definitely worthy of review. Who can verify? I'm in. Send it to Tom!
