Happy 2016
May you find the find of your life and your perfect detector.
!5 years ago when i bought my Explorer XS I had a Philips cell phone with a retractable antenna. I didnt know then that in just ten years i would need an app on my phone for weather reports, earthquake and tsunami reports, even a bubble level, starmap and mushrooms of the world. So when that came i sure didnt know i wo

a Book ? already ?
Great, and it is probably good to, and definitely a good read cause thats what we want to read. Detecting.
Does this mean that Nokta upped the Fisher tec enough to really deserve a book ?
With all the brains Fisher have these days I hope some day soon they can make a detector that all the " names " at the user end will want to make a BOOK about.

From Experience. Several thousands of hours.
The Explorer XS is the deepest availabe detector to date on silver with some mass. We are talking US 10 cent and heavier mass coins.
The XS has a beautiful tendency to look below small trash as its " setup " or FBS freq "works " looks through small bits and shard s of aluminium and steel.
One of my favorite detectors and b

Thia one has a video that shows how it works.
Mole Prospector ? Same type of " detector "
What happens to the people who buy them when they complain.

If I had to chose between a low end FT, Whites or a GoFind I would chose the GoFind.
Even if its not deep its a detector that is cheap and can be placed in your backpack or even under the seat of your car. And 6" isnt that shallow mind you. I expect the detectors to not be in the best category for recoveryspeed either but it does not matter. It is not aimed for the seasoned detectorists b

Its time for several manufacturers to think new and adapt to the dynamic market where new innovations come rapidly
Kodak was the leader in cameras and filmrolls.
They also had the first digital camera in their hands but neglected it maybe because they could not sell filmrolls for it.
Where is Kodak today ?
It is about understanding what the customers want in the nearest future and bring j

Bending pipes can be difficult.
The risk of breaking instead of bending will be less if the pipe is filled with sand.
Maybe not possible with machines that have wires from housing to rear but with other machines it is best to fill them.

Have you tried detecting in all metal mode. ?
The kind with adjustable sat speed and treshold.
If you learn how to deciffer narrow sigals from wide signals and adjust your coilsweep you are in for magic.
Many of the detectors in use have more power then the user know. Disc mode and " new detector " gets to much attention.

Kellyco pushing Noktas will result in higher profits.
Giving them to much info to fast is redicilous.
A tremendeous marketing error, like an earthquake.

Marketing flaw by Nokta to give Kellyco the possibility to leak their information.
But they are in for the dollars and are hungry.
With that said, wouldnt a brand new american made detector taste good.
Now that they have been whipped, punched on the nose, kicked in the arse and hurt with their own blood.
They can " copy " lol, Nokta/Makro any day.

Testing speed an recovery and depth is one thing.
Do the Racer have any kind of mixed signal response. ?
Disc channel ID readout when in all metal ?

Yes, the GMP is one of the best unmasking detectors made. No reason to buy a Deus to better the performance for the 18 khz frequency.
Maybe a niche opens for someone who disable the wireless transmitter.
XP should develop the same detector in a more modern looking detector for the niche market.

I would think the same as several others.
In two tone the " boost " process is enabled and in three tone its " off "
In fact a very clever way to implement it as the most likely users of a recieving channel boost is relichunters and others that detect way out of city parks where :::::::
Trash is high, EMI is high and depth is not the absolute most important factor.

I dont think so Lowboy.
Whites have been the leader in US detector manufacturing for a long time.
And they have a lot, a LOT, of patents to prove it.
There is however competition coming into the US market that have none.
The technology is coming from bright brains whatever there name is
So where in the world would you expect new development to come from and not copycat circuitry ?

Steve: Thx for the links and your very good write up as always.
Mike :
Would be insane cool if it works. The V3 is a definitive winner as it is with its stereo mixed mode. Enough use and you get addicted.
May be a game changer for some people. Relic and beachunters will love it.,

Mike.
VLF in a constant field and pulse is just that, a pulsing signal. The VLF can not read ID from the pulse side but must use its own field to read from.
Maybe it is possible to run a pulse on the same coils as the VLF signal operates on but maybe not.
Possibly they can be so different that they dont interact with eachother. Then we will have something to look foreward to for sure.

Does anyone know if it is possible to run a pulse circuit and a VLF circuit at the same time through the same coils.
If it is we could have a stereo pulse/vlf mixed mode detector.
I have my doubts but as batteries get better and cheaper that should not be a problem anymore.

Finds are still there in the millons all over the world.
They are either deeper, out of sensitivity spec, masked by unwanted trash or mis ID by discrimination systems and/or resting beneath difficult mineraliced soil.
But many/maybe most breaking news finds are where no coil have been and it will only take a cheap detector to find them.

Monte, Steve and Tom do their work wich is testing detectors and they have nearly 100 years detecting behind them combined. And they detect more hours then most people.
What they report is the detector they have in hand regardless of brand, if it is a prototype, a production model or even a copy of something else. If it is a clever copy they dont know.
It is a detector...

At night there is much less interference.
More finds light up then if upgrading detector during daytime. An Explorer lights up like a candle and see like an owl if you compare to daytime.
All interference come from a source that is energy driven.
The largest energysource we know is the sun. It can play out on any energydriven device, including MD s.
The thing is that you have to experience i

Both Minelab CTX and Deus and several other XP s allow you to use your own preferred headphone as wireless. The reciever could be smaller.
Whites do not.
Todays technology allows for a very very small reciever. So small it can be hidden anywhere you want if you want to be absolutely free.
WHY ? has no US manufacturer developed a reciever ( only) that actually is designed as small as poss

Having a rather low depth limit for ID the Deus will easily lose to several competitors when minerals get higher and finds are deeper.
Goes to show. Best detector some places and for some applications may not be the best other places or/and for other applications.
When iron trash is extremely high and magnetic minerals are high. Places where the deus finds the most finds others dont see. H

If someone could design a way to detect deep with a very small coil everything will change.
The 5 " Razorback on a TDI can do some suprising things some places. F75, V3i and Explorers opens up in a new way to when using small coils.
If the coil is small enough and deep enough you can tilt it to look under shallow unwanted trash.
