Hallo Keith and Tmanly,
I use the X5 since the beginning and have all coils. I still use it now combining it with my old CZ3d and my current Polish machine the Rutus Jupiter v3 which is superb in amongst the iron on my Roman and Celtic sites. With this 3 machines and their different coils I work all my best sites and every time I am amazed how each machine is complimentary to the other. So I can

It is the rod of the Golden Mask 5 shown on the picture below!! This machine seems to be very innovating like you can see on a few YouTube-videos demonstrating his sprectrum VDI!!

You are right Tab,…the pinpoint button is too far backwards!!!
And the angle of viewing the meter is also a “little” bit wrong!
This I will correct later on by moving the control box an inch forward and tilting it a little bit downwards on the front!!
So another adapter plate must be fixed on the handle etc…..!!!!
But for the rest it is lighter, balance is better and it feels more rigid!!

Completely agree with you Mike!!!
If I was you “x2000” , I should keep that detector that’s for sure! Read and reread the manual, go out in the field and built up experience. Begin for example with half of the sensitivity, dig up all what you encounter and see and hear what the machine is telling you. Once you get it mastered it will pay dividends!! And no IRON is not "your" problem bu

X2000,...you have certainly a faulty X5!!!!
I have a X5 (version 1.2/ jan.2003) ; number:1006; so one of the beginning years .
I bought it in a shop in the Netherlands 12 years ago. I was looking for a top model and tried several machines from different brands but nothing that could convince me!!
The dealer said:"Here I have a little, lightweight machine that is new on the market!!!"

Thank you Mike for this "high technical" explanation!!!! Whatever one says or claims in all those fora for me the Cz3d is a fantastic machine that does a very good job in the most different places to hunt and very easy to tune and set up for the given situation!! It is and stays a good all-rounder!!!
Happy hunting and enjoy the good life!!

Hello I am a new member on this forum and I live in Belgium (Europe). I use myself a Troy shadow x5(deep) and a Rutus Jupiter(great unmasker) made in Poland. My wife is detecting also and uses a Fisher cz3d; this detector is excellent on the beach and certainly in the wet-salt sand!! Before she had the cz5 and cz6a which was the best and deepest!!(we had to keep that one!!)
