I haven't tried any of the prospecting detectors - the whole point of this topic was to figure out if getting one would make sense.
I do keep the compadre on the I of the IRON - the stuff it finds is so tiny, I was having hard time locating it with the garret pro pointer and had to get the TRX bullseye.

Hi Tom,
After watching your DVD I’ve tried detecting with my Compadre and 8” coil in a couple of the nearby sand volleyball courts. But other than a few targets, it’s been dead silent. I’ve tried digging into the sand and stopped after about a foot, so the sand layer is quite thick. I am guessing either the courts had been hunted out or the good target just sank below my detectable depth. So I w
