That tuning tip works with the TRX as well.
Don't get me wrong. I use both and like both.
I prefer the Garett once the target is out of the hole.

I think vfp7 was trying to say the TRX pinpoints off of the tip, unlike the Garrett, which will also pinpoint along the sides of the pin pointer.
I have both the orange Garrett and the Whites waterproof TRX. I've tested them both out in the field on targets before I dig them. I find the TRX to be deeper than the Garrett in every case.

Correct! I was installing an underground electric dog fence around my property here in West Virginia. All 5 acres of it. I was using a lawn edger to cut the groove for the wire, then getting on my knees with a paint stirring stick to tuck the wire into the groove.
