My friend Kinny did.
But like Sven said, a PI coil is more straight forward, VLF, more time, more complicated.
Kinny build a PI coil for his Minelab gold finding machine.
We talked on the phone.
He researched the principals of how coils work.
Then he bought an inductance meter, and some special wire.
Kinny is in my trade. Precision Grinding.
But of course he has support equipment too.

What kind of beach cleaners does your area have?
We have modern ones.
The job of driving them,.... it's the most sought after job in the state.
Back in the day you could follow behind the machine and do well.
No cans, no big balls of aluminum foil.....
Now a days, (for the last two years), I have followed behind the cleaners,
with hot machines that miss nothing,

Well here she comes again,.... the Fourth Of July.
When the crowd moves on, I move in.
For me, this is better than Christmas.
Running my tumbler and cleaning up coins on hand.
That money will fill my gas tank, pay for batteries, and cover the cost of all the coffee.
I'll start getting my gear together and making a map tonight, and finish in the morning.
Damn I love this hobby.

Harold, it depends on how much storage a forum has.
Some forums are huge, and use expensive software, (vbulletin, etc.), they shell out money to have
lots of storage, and bells an whistles.
Smaller forums don't have that kind of storage. So images are displayed there, but hosted else where.
Big forums often have the option for members to have photo albums.
A member can then host f

Harold, normally there's no problems swapping coils in mild ground.
It's mineralized ground that makes swapping coils a catch can.
You should call and talk to Rusty.
Maybe there is an issue with the coil that didn't act right when you tried it.

You can go down in coil size with a Fixed GB , But not up?.
It all depends on the ground Harold.
Rusty can tell you pretty much what areas can swap coils around without problems.
He claims that California is a place where swapping coils around can bring poor result.
The answer of course is adjustable ground balance.
If the machine has it, you can swap coils around all you want

I use Troy Pro headphones most of the time in the city.
Sun Ray Pro Gold headphones are very nice.
Entry level money for nice quality:

I have "a bunch" of headphones if you want to try something out let me know.
Try something you like, I'll cut you a good deal, and you're off and running.

Dixiedigger put one of those Precision 7 coils on his Silver Sabre Plus.
He said it was very hot, stable, deep, and he said it performed better than
an early "white", thin, open center, 8" coil. And those are great coils.
Oh, an he said it was especially sensitive.
I tried a Precision 7 coil on my Euro Sabre. I was more than impressed!
Possibly the best set up I have put tog

Anyone have any experience with this unit?
4 meters deep, depending on the soil, so maybe only 1 or 2 meters deep in tough ground.
It's a pulse machine, but still, that is one heck of a claim depth wise.

Yes, all Sovereign coils will work on that unit.
Including the Tornado series.
There are a bunch.
There are a couple of cautions.
The "early" Sun Ray coils are not waterproof.
The Minelab "CoinSearch", one of the very best coils, is not waterproof.

I agree with J&D.
That location, like many locations, the choice of hitting the place with more than one frequency machine should be considered.
The results always produce plenty of food for thought.

Yeah That was cool too. I heard the 1236x was a better machine? And a fave of are very own Keith Southern.
Not to sound bias,.... the 1236X2 is nice, but incorporated a "silent search" option that few liked.
And, well,..... the 1236X2,... it became the machine that people bought when they couldn't find a 1235X.

Ok, slippage............
You have a coil, sometimes a bigger or heavier than average coil.
Or, it's past time you replace the rubber washers at the tip of your lower.
Or, you have a Compass machine, and the lower wants to keep rotating to the left or right.
Slippage
Simply put a small amount of powered rosin on your fingertip, and apply sparingly to what you want to stop slipp

I have a couple of practical tips.
Ok, you have a car charger, but not a wall charger................
Get one of these
Set up looks like this......
Use any car charger as a wall charger
Can get you out of a jam, or save you a few bucks, or both.
