I thought about this in the week when I read the "conspiracy theory" that 5G is responsible for covid-19. I thought about how it would affect metal detecting and here you are already noticing the affects.
Is this the death of deep depths in metal detecting for ALL machines? Has anyone else in a 5G populated area experienced this with a machine that is usually impervious to EMI?

Hi All
Are there Nox hunters who use a positive ground balance and do you achieve the desired results?
Also, how do you go about setting it up? Thanks

Seeing we have a choice of 3 firmware versions, I just wanted to know if there are still Equinox owners using the original firmware, especially on beaches. I only used it twice before 1.75 was released and switched over to 1.75 as soon as it was released, so I am not that familiar with it.

Has anyone found deep (on the edge of detection) gold rings on the beach with the latest update 2.0? What does it sound like? I now know what iron and bottle tops sound like, but what does deep gold rings sound like???
I had the iffy sound of deep gold on the previous update down to a tee, but now with the update I'm not sure if the tone has changed, as I have yet to find gold.
Is it a c

Tom D... I have been testing the -1 to -3 tone break and I am impressed with this new update.
You cannot fool it - even with a -3 tone break... it gives off the lower conductor tone... BUT there is an iron tell-tale sign and I dug just to be sure ...and it was rusty hairpins, tent pegs and small bits of iron. Very impressed and confident. Now for the beach to open up. *Sigh*

Tom... does the same apply to tilted or on edge gold rings on wet beach sand or does it only apply to tilted coins?
Also, do we still use full sensitivity or do we reduce

Tom D... if the 11 inch coil has impressed with this new update, how would the 15 inch coil perform, seeing the bigger coil ID'd targets better?

Tom D.... If FE 0 = F2 4 on the 800, what is F2 2 equivalent to (FE) on the 600? Do the negative 1/4 increments mentioned proceed up the positive axis too, e.g. positive 1/4, etc.? Thank you for your efforts and input.

Tom D... did they detune the power output of Beach 2? I noticed some difficulty on a deep clad coin - Beach 1 hit it sweet, but Beach 2 was a bit choppy. Last update had Beach 2 at a higher power output than original software.
Otherwise, the iron grunt on bottle tops works a treat.
Volume is a tad softer. Machine is quieter - not so chatty. Depth meter seems more accurate too. Auto tracking see

Tom D... you say leave it in FE2 and forget about it... does FE2 over-ride FE?
What do we do with original FE settings - use it as we always have? ...Example I previously used Iron Bias = 1 on V1.75

Tom... Sorry, I meant the sand contains about 10% water - about 20m away from high tide mark and does not get any seawater - 10% is just dampness and the strong winds blew most of the dry sand away.

My findings:
Guessing about 10% dry sand.
Sensitivity = 20

So true. That tiny bit of dampness just under the dry is enough to give false signals as the EQX is very sensitive.

Dan(NM)... I tried, but there is a continuous falsing with a VDI of 1 and 2, so it needs to be notched out, but the 20kt pendant I found recently, had a VDI of 1.
