Tom, I just got home from the beach. Yes, when seawater hits the metal part of the coil connector on the back of the control head, the detector loudly beeps. Now I can clearly see the problem. I'm going to try to wrap the connector in sticky sheet rubber and see if this helps any.

Tom, I went ahead and bought another new Manticore through Cabela's. This new Manticore has so much more stability than the first one I had. This ones coil can touch the wet sand and the detector remains quiet. This kind of confirms that I had a bad coil on the first new Manticore. I am posting this information on this specific thread because it is directly related to this thread.
But now I

Tom or anyone else, will we ever see accessory coils for the Manticore? They have been advertised for sale for a long time, but they are still not available. Is Minelab having problems?

Shelton, Probably the best thing to do is send one of these detectors to NASA Tom to test and report. I am certain he will be fair and unbiased. He always is. I also know he will find the detectors niches. Tom, make sure I am not putting words in your mouth, but I am guessing that if you like the detector, you may be willing to pay for it. I know many of us would love to hear your opinion on this

Tom, is there any chance I could buy a proofed, certified Manticore from you? I'M quite nervous about even thinking about buying another Manticore.

It was much easier to return the detector and get my money back then to figure out how to contact Minelab and also to find out how good or bad their warranty repair department is. That may be opening up a can of worms. Then I would have no idea how fast or slow it would be fixed. Tom Thanks! You give me a lot to think about.

I have been trying to buy a Manticore from my dealer, Kellyco, for many, many months. They just are not getting any. So I did the unthinkable, and bought one from big box Cabela's. I have been saving up for a long time. Finally Cabela's had one. I spent just over $1700 USD for one. Big box does not have dealer support. I would soon regret this. I received the detector this past Friday a

Calabash, can you make a real short video, maybe 2 minutes long, comparing the Nokta Legend in multi frequency to Xterra, only on your 10.5 dime? Thanks

Tom, What are the Manticores weaknesses where you can't use it? What other units do you use? Did you ever download the new Beta tester update into your Nokta Legend?

Thanks Sharpshooter. I was wondering that information also.
I'm glad Minelab has finally caught up to the Dues-2. But what if Dues-2 comes out with a performance update? Tom, are you still working on the Manticore?

Tom, Can I ask several questions? Are you holding back anything with Manticore? Is the Manticore dumbed down any? I would love to know what are you working on next. Are you still with Fisher? Do you think Tarsacci has anything up their sleeve? or Nokia?

Tom, Thanks! Your answers carry the final weight. When the time comes, I would like to know your comparison between the Tarsacci and the Manticore. This would be the ultimate tell all. Also, what does it take to get you to talk about the Legend? Please!!!

Tom, are you helping develop the new Nokta SMF? Do you have one? I'm curious to know how it compares to the Equinox and Tarsacci. How about the new XP Deus-2? What are your thoughts and comments? I'm surprise no one is asking. Is Minelab doing anything? I remember you saying something like - The Equinox was always targeted as a midline, mid priced unit.

Tom, Thanks once again for your answers. I always enjoy reading your responses and the stuff that's on this forum. One more question that has been on my mind. What things do you NOT like about the Tarsacci? What would you like to see improved?

Tom, Didn't the CZ come out like 30 years ago? Are we still at the same depths of 30 years ago? We had no cell phones 30 years ago and now we have iPhone 12's. The world has changed in 30 years.

Is there anything you can share?
What direction are the manufactures going?
What should we be looking for?
What can we look forward to?
Do you feel there's any major breakthroughs that are about to be made?
Do any companies stand out more than others?
Very interested what your thoughts are on these questions.
Thanks

Today while I was hunting on the beach with the Nox, I finally ran into someone who was operating a Tarsacci. He was nice enough to take the time to answer some questions and let me take it for a short spin as I am very interested in this unit for beach hunting. Due to the short time I got to use the Tarsacci, I cannot comment on the performance but the ergonomics of this unit. As I am only 6-1 a

Tom,
Is the Minelab doing anything? Are you working on, do you have a new flagship prototype? If so, can you tell us anything? Is Fisher doing ok? You were doing a ton of things with Fisher. They seemed like top dog for a long time. Thanks
