Tom, for $1600 I would expect that minelab provide continuous updates just like XP and Nokta(with the legend) have been doing. That is the model that customers are expecting now.
The updates don't need to be some massive update providing all sorts of new features. For example
how about a small update that gives us the mineralization meter!

I don't own one but I've been really interested in the tarsacci. However I've watched a bunch of videos and the tones are the main reason why I won't buy the current version.
It does need a new version with the ability to update the software. Also didn't notice the ability to adjust the recovery speed so it could use that as well.

"In/with this configuration....... I am finding targets that .... never in the history of mankind..... have ever been detected or recovered in a wet-salt environment. "
Could you give us some examples?

Why couldn't we have a higher performing coil thats also lighter weight?
What specifically would make a higher performing coil heavier?
Could the weight be mitigated by using a lighter weight plastic frame or maybe carbon fiber?
Could resin fill for the coil windings be strong and weigh less?

Thanks for clearing up what that m9 coil is. If the 9 inch is for the water, is it designed to cause less drag when swinging it under water?
How about making some coils that are white so we can see where the coil is when its under water lol. My water isn't crystal clear so I put reflective tape on the top of my coils.
I think a lot of people would like a 10x5 elliptical.

Hi Tom, I read on another forum from a minelab dealer that aside from the m8 and m15 coils their product list also mentions an m9 coil.
3011-0473 Coil, M9 Accessory MTCR
Do you have any info regarding this coil?
Thanks!

Hi Tom, thank you for clarifying that.
I had read the new manual section on the stabilizer and I misunderstood that the stabilizer filter was completely separate from the stabilizer.
My assumed loss of depth in AT-LC is because I was using the filter option as an on/off for the stabilizer. So I was running stabilizer on when I thought it was off in all areas.

Hi Tom, thanks for the explanation.
One thing that concerns me regarding the video is that you can see Andrew adjusting the stabilizer and how it affects the signals. However you can see the stabilizer setting is set to Off during the entire time he adjusts it. Meaning the stabilizer is functioning even though its set to off. This might be a programing glitch

Hi Tom, I'm still getting used to this update but I have a quick question regarding the update.
Was there a change to the frequency weighting or frequency's used on AT-LC multi?
AT-LC seems not as deep and is less sensitive to iron nails, almost like higher frequencies are being used. Prior to the update AT-HC and AT-LC were closer in depth in my dirt. Or maybe its just my imagi

Hi Tom,
For the result you mention above, during the testing did you also adjust recovery speed at all?
If so what were the results?
Thanks!

We don't even need a separate wireless receiver module. The manticore uses the Nordic nRF5340 chipset which is bluetooth le compatible. we just need minelab to allow 3rd party bluetooth le headsets to connect to it.

Hey Tom, with these ferrous limits are you using AT-HC mostly with them or AT-LC? Also could you describe the shape of the target trace for these items that its unmasking?

I tested mine today and it won't play the jingle if I had the headphones connected when I last turned the manticore off. If you turn off wireless headphone connection on the manticore and turned the manticore off then on it will play the jingle.

I hope the update comes soon, I was at an 1800's foundation on Saturday, carpet of nails everywhere. I had a great signal 90+ when swinging all directions and on the target trace it was a nice small dot no bleeding from the iron range.
I had a feeling it was just a bunch of nails because the signal was coming from between a bunch of foundation rocks and I know rocks have a tendency to d

DigDugNY, Yes, each search mode has its own settings that will not carry over to other modes when you switch to them. Each mode will retain the when you shut the machine off. One other thing to do is turn the iron volume down to about 2 and turn the horse shoe on while hunting, it helps when hunting in iron areas. Bring a dime with you and bury it in the iron area's just to get an idea of

DigDugNY, I did the same thing your planning on doing.
If you don't have a copy download the instruction manual
Setup each search mode before going out detecting with the audio theme that you like the most. For example I prefer Enhanced audio, and I set the audio profile to Simple.
Long press noise cancel until the detector settles on one channel. Also each Search Mode has it

Thanks Tom, I'll be heading to that same location this weekend and I'll try running AT-HC exclusively all day and check signals with other modes and compare them.
Since you mentioned Minelab reads through this thread. I'd like to request adding a Fe3O4 gauge to the ground balance screen so we know how strong mineralization is in the area's where we are detecting.

Hi Tom,
I recently started detecting an old foundation/farm and everywhere I'm at in this location I'm ground balancing around 45-55 with AT-HC and AT-LC I reground balanced in multiple areas and double checked to make sure there was no iron. Since there's no mineralization meter(maybe minelab could add one to the GB screen) do higher GB numbers = higher mineralization?

Hi Tom, I was using my test to see which mode would work best in heavy iron nails. At the location that I was detecting it seemed that Beach Low Conductors worked best in finding the dime as it was able to see the dime and give a good repeatable signal. I'm thinking that Beach Low Conductor might currently be the best mode to use in heavy iron. But I need to test it some more.

On Saturday I did some testing at an old foundation from the 1800's. This place had a lot of square nails and I recall the search modes AT-HC and AT-LC were ground balancing around 12-13. I found a spot next to the foundation dug a plug and put a modern US dime about 6 inches down flat and closed it up.
I went through every single search mode and while running the manticore sensitivity

Hi Tom,
After using the Manticore for a month I have a question about the different All Terrain Modes.
I've read through the different descriptions for each search mode many times however I'm not always sure that I'm using the best mode for the locations I'm detecting. For example if I'm right next to a cellar hole should I use Fast mode or use High Conductors/l

Hi Tom,
I started off using the Rich audio at first cause I liked the concept of it, but like you said it sounds weak, so I've been using Medium since I got the detector. Now I'm starting to consider going to Simple cause I get the feeling that I might accidentally pass up a good deep signal even in Medium. I think it would be a good idea to switch the default audio theme to Simple
