Place a coin flat on the surface of inert soil in a large container, cover the the contaner and sit it in a non earthquake area. Check in a thousand yrs. IMO the coin will still be within a1/4 inch of the surface.

WHY would a detector detect deeper in the ground than in the air, lF done under the same conditions at the same location , with the coil in the horizontal position during the air test. In my opinion the ground distance will be less or at best the same in the ground. Even on FBS and BS MLs

About 25 yrs ago l was nugget hunting, and knelt down on one knee to swing the detector under a Palo Verde tree, looked down, and a coiled coon tail diamond back was just in front of fmy knee. He never moved but l sure did. I rarely even think about snakes while detecting

I doubt that many detectorist have used the Deus v4 with the new coils ,since it isn't available yet. Thats what l was commenting on about passing judgement on. I suspect it will be great for my detectin needs, I like gold.
