I just did a bit of coin hunting and took my Omega with me just to see if it still had issues at this particular site. As soon as I got there, and turned on the Omega, it started sputtering so I had to lower the sens to 50.
The Deus was able to run fine almost wide open at 90 sens. No problems with electrical interference at this particular spot.

I'll start with a clad dime. I just stuck a Dime in the dirt on edge. I was using the 4Khz frequency and '4' reactivity. When swinging the coil lengthwise, the Deus could not see the Dime until the coil was about 2" from it. And even then, it was a high tone, but raspy sounding. Surprisingly, the TID was right on (73)
Secondly, when in the 4Khz mode, a US Dime shows on the

very few detectors can do that in 'real' ground. Florida ground has no mineralization so most penetrate as far as the air tests. Just for your info.

Good luck with it. Do you know the guy from Indiana who found an Alabama belt plate up there in a farmer's field a few years ago?
There are relics up there.

Where in Germany are you? I live in Schwaebish Gmund(sp) 1976-1978. Purchased my first detector, a TR. There was absolutely no mineralization over there.
Cheers!

Yes the headphones are light weight but you don't have an equivalent pair with your $40.00 purchase. the Deus headphones are also capable of controlling the detector.

Go over that same ground with a T2SE, Troy X5, Fisher F75, or a Deus, and you'll find even more stuff.
By the way, in most areas, such as here in Missouri, you won't get those depths.

Thanks for the quick shipping, Tom.
Oh, and thanks for sealing it in plastic. We had a real bad downpour and my mail got wet. DVD was dry as a bone.

Folks have been using the DEUS for two years with very few complaints. Is that not good enough for you?

Hey, Tom.
I've had two new CZ5s and neither of them would air test a good as the above mentioned CZ6a. Were mine defective?
Was the CZ7 an improvement over the CZ5?

I've noticed that too. You know what? It's OK to not be able to afford a Deus. There are much more important things in life than metal detecting....
That being said, there is a matter of perspective. it appears that the Deus can take the place of various detectors.

The one non-essential component of the Deus system is the headphone assembly. The distributor sells the parts individually.
It looks like one can save lots of money by purchasing the coil, rod, and control box seperately. throw in the charging clip and charger and you're looking at about $1500.00 . That's close to Etrac territory.
Just an idea.
PM me for other ideas.

Daniel, I've been reading your posts since you were 16 or so. You have purchased almost every type of detector known to man.
If you expect the Deus to penetrate your type of soil any better than the Minelab, it just ain't gonna happen. It does appear to be as light as the Troy X5, though.
On the other hand, I'd be interested in how well it finds silver coins on the lowest fre

How dare you set the Disc for what's right for you in your area.. lol You should listen to the folks who don't have a Deus.

How much more would you pay for an E-trac which is half the weight and totally wireless.
To me, it would be worth another 2-300 bucks.
I used to love my Explorer, but damn, so heavy!

I used to love my CZ but now I realize that I missed good targets...
If you are hunting in an area where you know that deep good targets exist, make sure you can hear the iron signals. When you get a low-medium deep iron tone, whip the coil across it 5-8 times. If you get even one middle tone out of 8 times, I can virtually guarantee that you have a non-ferrous target.
I used this technique

When I had my Troy X5, I found many coins with nails in the same hole. I was once searching in Orlando, Florida, and got a pretty good dime signal...both ways. dug about 3" and found my first finishing nail. After pulling out 4 nails I found the dime.
I was hunting a CW camp in Virginia with a friend of mine, who also had a Troy. The other fellow had a DFX and knew how to use it. The grou

That's a nice test.
I would really be impressed if the test were done with old rusty nails with some of them bent.
I don't know about others, but I've never found such nice nails in the ground.

The XP website says most detectors are a '1' in recovery speed. Only a select few are a '2'. The Deus can be adjusted up to '5'. Very impressive.
