We are helplessly mired without much hope of being able to detect these elusive gold stud and diamond stud earrings effectively at depth and with consistency.
In most conditions we are forced to use VLF in all metal mode or PI. Dig dig dig. We further compromise depth with special beach settings to offset the dreaded salt effects...ie lower sense etc etc.
Damned if you do, damned if you d

No EMI issues or any of the other issues mentioned so far.
Initially during the inception of the NOX, there were many complaints from nincompoops who didn't understand that a cell phone will cause EMI while it pings the nearest tower for signal.
With this now becoming common knowledge, that issue is for the most part a non-issue.
I've not seen many complaints regarding the NOX.

I've had my NOX 800 for a short time, I've only been to the beach with it once so far and only hunted for about 3 hours with it on the towel line and in the surf.
I live in South Florida and our beaches have very mild mineral conditions compared to other beaches.
I did not experience any falsing in beach 1 except when running my coil over beach cabbage "sea weed" which dur

There's absolutely nothing wrong with using any Garret detector.

Do you ever partially uncover a find and sit back and wonder ?
Nope... I dig that $#it like a fat kid eating ice cream.
Nice find, congratulations.

I'm still waiting for some reviews and video of the Nox in the deep end.
I'm a little surprised no one has stepped up to the plate.

Well... yes I would compare the CTX with the NOX with the intended use in mind but the price being a factor. $2400 vs $900.
The CTX gets respect but the Nox does on a different price / performance level

No, honestly I'm interested too. The CTX is more than formidable compared to a NOX 800 and comparisons are always good to see.

I got my 800 from Chris at Arizona Outback, waited two weeks, MAP but free shipping.
So far my best find was a small .5 gram 10k gold charm at a park and separately a thin 4" piece of 18k chain in wet sand at the beach.
Guess I'm lucky.... only out three times with it so far and took home the gold twice.
I'm anxious to get more time on it and become assimilated into the

We leave the discrimination at your discretion.......
Sometimes having too little disc is better than missing a gold lunker.
Everything in our world is a compromise.

Tom, I realize we are talking about this topic in generalized terms but is it possible for a PI detector
to send more than one TX and receive more than one RX simultaneously or via timed intervals, receive, process notch with a narrow band pass for the specific RX return?
Similar to the BBS and FBS that ML uses for VLF but in PI architecture ?

This guy has a very interesting observation when determining target i.d.
Target I.D. Hack
I've not yet tried it, don't know how useful it would be but exploitation of technology is always good thing for Th'ers
Anyone else have comments, another observation, hack or tip ???

Here's a link from Newark Electronics who posted Tektonix's ( best O scope in the world ) link on Lithium Ion battery care.
Its a PDF, save it for future reference.
Lithium Ion has its own specific guidelines for care and maintenance and it differs from other rechargeable batteries.
