I emailed Keith asking him to help identify a brass (sword) guard piece I had found. He replied on 4/15, 3 days after I sent it. I think he's fine. Probably busy testing all these new detectors First Texas will soon be unleashing on us (yeah, right) <vbg>.

Field 2, auto noise cancel, auto ground balance, recovery speed 5, 5 tone
Used all-metal to select clean area for test.
Various targets as noted. L&S denotes larger and smaller target items of same type.
Near is with coil just above target. Far is with coil near the height above target of non detection. Mid was deemed not helpful.
Near readings were almost always rock steady on one nu

I've been fortunate to have detected the Reams Station area a couple times in the past 3 years. You possess a solemn treasure, a rare level of artifact.
Thanks for sharing.

His setup may or may not be what you want, but this video is an excellent tutorial on using some of the Equinox features to customize target ranges, tones, and volumes.

25 acres. a few scattered confederate relics (left). scarce but nice.
i snagged the sunburst with my impact, and the Charleston high base bullet a couple days earlier.
my digging partner, with his Equinox 800, got the SC coat (to go with his SC cuff, GA coat, and script A coat from a few days ago)

looks like it was used to make a fishing weight. It and aluminum cans and modern bullets were all I found with my Impact.
My digging partner with his Equinox found a Georgia coat button, great shape with shank, and what we think will clean up to be a SC cuff, also very nice shape with shank.
Oh, he also found a piece of a confederate brass spur. He likely could have found them with any detector

I tried the recalibration. Didn't seem to reduce the start up lag time at all. Those button press routines are sketchy. Seems to take several tries to get the timing of the presses right for the progression.

Maybe your'e the exception, Keith. Maybe you SHOULD quit your day job <g>. Oh, right, they don't pay field testers. But they do pay consultants!

Not a nag. (Does saying not a nag mean it really is a nag? <g>)
Tom, being one who insists on incorporating every efficiency, I'm curious as to your thoughts on the 2 to 3 second delay between pressing the button to turn on the F-Pulse - and it turning on?
My thinking is that this is due to the LED brightness adjustment program starting with the F-Pulse off. Had that program been p

I bought the one Cabin Fever/Bryan let go. Used it in the field today for the first time. The field happened to be woods outside of Danville, VA. Old log cabin site. Oldies were tough today, but did dig lots of clad coins and a watch fob. Hopefully 3 or 4 wheaties in the bunch. Noticed the ground was moderately mineralized. One bar on the Impact. Also used the Nokta Relic with small coil. F-Pulse

Tom said he has not had a production run Equinox to play with; just the prepro, and he's reluctant to speak about a model he has not used, as some things might have changed from what he saw during testing.

Well then you might consider using it a bit less? It's just a word. Doesn't mean a damn thing. But it creates anger and resentment where it doesn't need to be. Just do your tests and film your hunts and let the results speak for themselv

past the aluminum zone, Bryan?
I dig aluminum cans at 12 and 14 inches sometimes in farm field and pastures. Not often, thank goodness.
