Which detector do you use? Yesterday in another thread it sounded like you were getting ready to buy a CoRe. Do you have another Nokta detector?

Hi everyone (yo Skiwhiz!), it's been a long time. I've been detectorless for a number of years and I'm planning to get back into it. It looks like these Nokta brand detectors are all the rage at the moment. I must admit I am intrigued by them. They look to have a lot of very nice features at a reasonable price.
I'm sure it's been discussed already, but is it worth

Great advice, thanks.
I have read a few reports saying that the original Goldmaxx is better than the Goldmaxx Power. Any truth in this? What are the major differences between them? Are they worth an extra $100-200?

Thanks for the recommendations Tom and everyone else.
Tom, I read that the XP GMP is not legal in the US because of the broadcasting frequencies used to communicate with the headphones. Is that true? If so, how would I go about getting a legal version? Also, I can't find any US distributors. Is this available only through UK sources?
The Deus is a bit out of my price range. I

I can't believe you got banned from that site, SkiWhiz. That Larry guy always seemed like he had a short fuse. One of those guys who get a little bit of power and let it go to their heads.
I BAN YOU! FEEL MY WRATH! BOW BEFORE MY POWER!

Thank you for the suggestions.
I've thought about the Vista Gold.... but I saw a video on youtube under "detectorcomparisons" that shows that it doesn't do too well in mineralized ground on silver. The Smart might be a little better as an all-arounder. Can anyone confirm this?

Hi everyone.... been away a while. Good to see you SkiWhiz! Anyway, life's been crazy. I sold my Explorer SE and CZ-3D 1021 a few years back, but I'm getting the detecting bug again. There are new detectors on the scene since I've been away, and I wanted to see what they were all about, and if they would work in my area. I detect mainly in the Mojave desert, hunting for 1860&

E-trac is supposedly the best park hunter at the moment if you want deep silver. If you are looking for clad, I would think that the Omega would be a good detector. Fast recovery speed, good in trash.

You said in one of your videos that the G2 gets the same depth as your LTD in California ground. I'm in California as well, except in the Southern desert'y part. The mineralization probably isn't that different from your ground. How does the G2 do on depth? I saw a few of your videos, and it seems like you get a lot of surface stuff. I had an LTD briefly and it didn't se

Could you clear up something once and for all.... are you on Teknetics' payroll? I respect your knowledge on detectors, but people should have a right to know if your unwavering support for the Teknetics Omega is partially the result of a paycheck.

QuoteNASA Tom, and Mojave --
Do you think such deep coins (unless fill has been brought it) might be a bit "unique" to areas with deep sandy soil? I cannot IMAGINE a coin being 18" deep, in this Oklahoma clay...and I have seen (and personally dug) early 1900s (World War I to Great Depression era) coins at 3"-4", in WAY too many cases for them to be mere "coinciden

I'd spend the money if it can really find silver coins at 2 feet. You'd be able to find all of the old coins that have sunk below the current detection depth. That would open up all the hunted out parks all over again.
However, from my understanding, the GPX detectors lose 2/3 of their depth when any kind of discrimination is added. So, it's pretty impractical to use in a lot

QuoteYes, I have one CZ-70 that I could sell.......and would like to see it in good/capable hands. . . . and prefer the person to be CZ 'astute' to a certain extent...........so as to 'appreciate' the capabilities of this unit.
I'm kind of a noob with CZ's, but I'd love to have that CZ70 just the same...

I regret selling my 1021 CZ-3D w/ 3 coil setup, especially since I got it for so cheap. But now I'm looking for a CZ70. I've always heard great things about it.
Does the lack of fine tuning with respect to the sensitivity ever become a problem for anybody? Does anyone ever get into a situation where they would love to have a sensitivity of 6.5 instead of 7?

I think Minelab makes the best machines for my ground, so I am pretty loyal to Minelab. However, if another brand could create something that could compete in mineralized ground, I wouldn't hesitate to jump ship.

Surprising results. In my badly mineralized ground, 7-8 inches were easy with my old Explorer SE. It was significantly deeper than the F75 LTD I had..

Tom, I just wanted to say that I hope you don't let the results of this one sale determine whether or not you are going to sell other detectors in the future. I think the LTD is overpriced, and I wasn't very impressed with it in my soil, so I am not interested in this item. However, I think your plan to sell detectors that live up to your standards is a VERY good idea, and I would lov
