You should really consider getting a patent on that.

I don't really care for the limiter switch. I just turn up the volume to where I can stand hearing a coin right under the coil. From my tests on buried stuff out in the yard, I can still hear the quiet signals just fine. But I do have fairly good hearing. If my hearing was slightly lacking it may be really handy. And it may also be practical for preserving your hearing for the long run.

So after using Tesoros for the past couple years, owning an Omega, and fiddling with some other detectors that my friends owned, I became intrigued with the Fors CoRe. Mainly for wanting a machine with the tonal info of a Tesoro, but with an ID readout to make hunting modern trash a little more "relaxing" for lack of a better term.
Things I like:

I have only had a few detectors myself, and my budget keeps me limited to just one or two at a time. I have no experience with any Minelab machines. But at the recent price reduction, and especially with the prices on used units, you owe it to yourself to try an Omega 8000. I had one until just recently, and only sold it to get a Fors CoRe in time for relic season.
The Omega just flat works. I

I know its a bit off topic for this post, but I'm looking at trying to get a Racer or Fors CoRe in the near future.
Does the Fors CoRe behave similarly to what you guys are describing? Is the resolution in the coin range identical to that on the Racer or is it a little different?
Just curious.

I had a Tejon and liked it pretty well. But what Keith recommended is exactly what the Tejon needs. My biggest gripe was the All Metal mode had a retune speed that was so slow it was worthless to me. How do you have a premier "relic" machine with such a slow retune speed? Maybe I just didn't do it right, but it just didn't work for me. Mine seemed plenty deep, especially afte

Haha no worries, I'm a guy. I been lurking around here for a couple years. Just never had much to contribute so I never registered.
You are right, there is a lot of great info and folks here. Thanks to everybody for all the info I've picked up here. This is THE forum to go to when I look for actual facts about machines, performance, comparisons, etc.
