I have a Tesoro Cortes that needs the Disc Mode preset ground balance adjusted.
I opened her up to see if I could figure out which vari-resistor to adjust but the board isn't marked and I don't know which one to adjust.
Anyone know which of the vari-resistors is the one for the Disc mode preset ground balance?
Thanks,
Mike

""Now that China has shared the bubonic plague of the 21st century with the world, I wonder what the fallout against them will be from the world once this is past us? Severed business relations? Crackdown on food practices? Nothing?""
I suspect that the USofA is learning that there are somethings you want to make sure you can produce at home.

Albuquerque population is around 900,000 people. COVID-19 is highly communicable with about a 1% mortality rate = 9,000. Ok...not that big of a number as compared to some "yearly and seasonal" numbers being passed around....only this isn't a yearly number......this is about how many people would die in about a 90 day period if the virus swept unchecked through the community.

Gold is only good to us if people are buying it and wearing it. I know I like the price high when I'm selling but the flip side is that when the price is high fewer people are buying it and wearing it. Less gold is given as presents. Less impulse buys. Existing gold is more likely sold to support a desire. Basically we end up with less gold floating around in the population to be lost

We are watching major changes take place in this new digital age in every venue. I like to come here when I need to un-focus for a few minutes and watch the controversies. Its like a detecting soap opera with commercial breaks and everything over here.

Jewelry hunting, at least "inland" jewelry hunters are pretty much handicapped. The prevailing thought process among design engineers appears to follow two camps....1) jewelry hunting and relic hunting is the same, or 2) jewelry hunting and prospecting is the same..
Both thought processes are incorrect. For the most part Relic hunters only care about ferrous / non ferrous, and Pr

Hi Brian,
Sometimes new or novice folks are looking and salivating over our pictures but don't understand the effort that was put in to find the keepers. On a personal level I was wondering how much flat iron you were having to clear.

Hey Del, I'd love to have a bigfoot or cleansweep type coil for my F75 or Impact. but...in today;s world if you want anything different from the mainstream you have to build it yourself.

Good luck with Rick,
I've been watching for a good deal on a Bigfoot coil myself. Everyone in a decade a sale of a lifetime comes up and I'm usually a dollar short and a day late.

Don't listen to the naysayers, Dean.
You have in your hand the ability to learn how metal detectors work. That knowledge and understanding will carry over into any other detector you will ever own. Put in the time on the DFX and you will be a better detectorist because of it.

Pick the one that falses on iron the least.
I like the way the CZ5 looks with the old knobs better than the CZ-3D, but I like the 4 tone audio of the CZ3D better than the 3 tone audio of the CZ5.
Hard choice.

I personally think the Nokta IMPACT Pro package is probably the best detector value on the market today. The performance/value for the money spent is unmatched considering you get these brand new or just a little over $500 right now. And I have no problem with anyone who focus' on a single brand.

1st Texas/Fisher was faced with this same dilemma as they continued to tweak and improve their circuits: Do I implement version improvements on the fly or do I hold them until I can release a 'new' model? Ultimately the user base told them not to hold them back but go ahead and release their improvements as they could, thus resulting in version updates and SE, LTD, + models.

Ireland vs Malaysia.... Most likely related to tribal knowledge on the mfg floor. Hard to transfer experience to a new mfg site. Even harder when your job is being out sourced to some out of country mfg site.

Hi Choppadude,
Times have changed for some brands and models. Tek direct....look at the website.
I went on the Teknetics website yesterday and sent them an email asking the same question. I got a reply back same day that answered my question. Current batch of Omega 8500's on hand were made in November and are only 3 months old. Perfect.

I'm planning on buying another Omega 8500 but want to make sure I get a unit from the latest greatest mfg run. Has anyone on here bought from direct from the Tek website? If so, what were your mfg date codes? Did you get unit date codes that were, say, within 6 months of the order date?
Thanks,
Mike

When the GoldMaster 24K was first released we were told they would also be providing a waterproof model. This is the promised waterproof model.
I don't understand all the negativity.

Sheds.....I'd recommend you do a factory reset. That will get rid of the iron grunts when you have your disc set above 14.
Its easy to accidentally notch in a iron range without being aware of it.

My experience in calling up a dealer to inquire about a Fisher product went flat pretty quick as the dealer quickly steered me away from what I was interested in and only what he was interested in selling me. He didn't get a sale from me that day even though I was ready to buy, nor will he every get a call back from me either.

On the Gold Kruzer, the Boost mode is really the Micro Jewelry mode and you don't want your disc any higher than 25. The Micro mode is turning out to be more of a general purpose tone id mode (as much as any 61 kHz unit can be a general purpose unit). In Boost my tiny jewelry count is up although it is still mostly stainless, although I find the target size promising and the 5x10 DD coil

My opinion is that Tom Dankowski dis-engaged from FTP when he helped Nokta develop the Impact. Furthermore, his work with Dimitar and the MDT-8000 places him at direct odds with FTP and the AQ project. In addition to that his active, ongoing work with Minelab (almost as a employee if you read his posts) places him even further away from FTP IP.
I'd be surprised to see him engaged o
