The E-Trac/Explorer/CTX are all really good units. REALLY good! But....... you may want to reconsider the EQX........for........(possibly) unsuspecting reasons. No....... not for it's light-weight. I'm referring to its real-World performance. The Operating System is much further advanced...in its ability to 'adjacent target separate'.......better than CTX (or E-Trac/Explorer).

John....... well said. And your 'fatigue factor' differs each day.... from day-to-day. (Which dictates how much 'overdrive' you can handle).

When there is a presence of iron (in close prox to a coin)...... even if the iron item(s) are fairly small........ the Minelab has a stronger propensity to 'iron null'. The T2/F70/F75 will most likely only present a higher numerical ID 'bounce'.
If coins are TOO masked (which does not take much)........ no detector will acquire the coin.

mntnflyr4fun ......... Time permitting, you may want to read the thread: "Rcpt Ack of F75 LTD Proto" and the XP GMP Field Test thread. There is a dramatic difference in performance (and recovered finds) between a unit that is more-so designed to work in carpets of nails ....... vs ....... a general purpose detector. It's quite an eye-opener & game-changer.

Yes, , , if only you could try this site with a F75 SE with 5" DD coil........... or with stock XP GMP.
It would change the way you think/hunt.

Your two numbers are FERROUS and CONDUCTIVE
The FERROUS numbers represent the amount of ferromagnetic properties in the detected metal target.
The CONDUCTIVE numbers represent the amount of NON-ferrous (conductive) properties in the detected metal target.
CONDUCTIVE = aluminum, brass, lead, copper, silver, gold .... to list a few. These are metals that do NOT stick to a magnet.

Albert...... well said.

Although the new FTP multi-freq platform that is in the mill .... may end up replacing the CZ (possibly).............. and ............ albeit a multi-freq platform............ may not be kin to the CZ..... (nor wanted to be related to a CZ). It may end up being closer to a G2/F75 platform..... but multi-freq. My speculation.

In inert mineralization .... to mild mineralization ..... to medium mineralization (vague terms)....... the CZ audibly presents better 'human intelligible' attributes.............................. especially with deeper targets. In medium-high...... or higher...... mineralization, the Minelab is the trump-card.

tns.s. = It is in these painstaking efforts (albeit only one real target tested)....... that will substantially increase your finds (subsequently..... 'fun factor')...... by knowing WHICH detector to choose .... and HOW to set it up for max performance. Life is short. Do it right the first time...... with the best tools...... set up in the best possible set-up confguration........ for t

Dirt conditions dictate. A very mild 'crackle' is ideal....... and this applies to most all brands of detectors. Units with threshold 'pitch'....... this is dictated by your natural hearing-loss degradation.

If you can get away with:
Sens 99
Disc 4
3 or 4 tones
F6 (probably. mitigate EMI)
'sl' mode
......... and see what you think. Go ahead and swing that coil fairly fast....... even in 'sl' mode............... and see what you think. In this set-up config....... it's a F75.
'de' is 'default'
'sl' is 'slow' (((Deeper

I speculate the phase-angle deflection that you encur...... is due to:
Different coil 'footprint' (shape) parameters.
'How' the architect of the electronic platform communicates/processes/handles ferromagnetic signatures.
Threshold 'transition points' of what the detector thinks is ferrous vs non-ferrous. (((Some detectors take a more conservative approach to mi

Now..... this is beginning to be more scientific. And air-tests have MUCH more value than most folks give credit to. If something 'fails' in a air-test.......... you can nearly guarantee it will not 'pass' in the ground. Air-tests are a more 'controlled' environment with multitudes of 'varaibles' removed......... allowing for additional/incremental/solo/min

Yes...... this is a good test........... and has merit to it.
Although it appears the E-Trac (or even a Explorer) may have better see-through abilities (mind you... the dime was on 'top') ............ I still VERY seriously question/speculate: if this testing (and subsequent resultant) insinuates the E-Trac has/is/will-have 'true' better see-through AND AND AND 'grea
