5" dd coil

tom!.. i hunt with. the f-75,and have done quite well in trash with the "4x6" coil
however,i am trying to "justify" the purchase of the 5" dd coil for hunting in the SAME conditions
would you say that the 5" dd is a"redundant" design when used in the indentical conditions previously
mentioned?.,OR in your view,is it a "better" coil?..thanks!

I truly believe it's a better coil.....especially in heavy iron infested trash sites. What you are trying to accomplish is...............better EFFECTIVE depth vs OVERALL depth. If you have the time......you may want to read "COIL SIZE MYTHS". This article can be found on the home page of this web-site. It should be in "Fisher Intelligence" and/or "Article Archives". This should have your answer......in a fairly definitive fashion.

thanks!..tom!..i will check the article out!
at the time of my purchase of the f-75,the 5" coil
was unavailable,so i have used the 4x6 extensively, and literally "put aside"
any notions of going after the 5"..have read with much interest many forums posts 'that extoll the virtues of this little coil
and it has finally got my "juices flowing"..so to speak!
