Btw,,,I am not one to use my backlight very often,,,I guess it would be possible to buy a unit with this fault,,,and the seller may not even know this fault exist with the detector they are selling.
Folks may want to make a point of asking about this,,,,," how does the screen look with backlight on??"

BTW...apparently this is a common occurrence from what I've been told by other CTX users and the fact that when I called Minelab when I first noticed it, they knew exactly what I was talking about and had a price for what it would cost to fix it within a minute or two of talking to them.
