Garrett Recon Pro AML-1000

I know that a couple of you guys have owned them. What do you think of it as an introductory PI machine, that is, somebody's first ever PI machine? The cost seems very reasonable.

Seems that if a beginner likes this machine it would be easy to switch off to an ATX at a later date. If a person is willing to dig junk, can the Recon be used effectively on land to find deep coins in hunted out parks, or, is it just a beach machine?

If it were me I'd pick up an used infinium before a Recon..

I liked the recon O.K. BUT I had to retune it constantly as it has no auto tune..
