Deus v4 Update and New Coil - Any News?

Hi Guys,

Just wondering does anyone have any idea when the new v4 software will be ready and when the new coil will be
ready for sale. I am eager to try out this new setup out in the Gold Fields.

Its been around I think 10 months since the rumors started and youtube videos started to emerge.

Had a thought. Maybe the planned upgrade changes has changed considering another detector has hit the market and maybe they
might give us 2 extra frequencies. 1 at 40 and maybe the other new one at around 60. After seeing promotional stuff for the new coil
and changes I would of thought at a worse case scenario these would be available for upgrade or sale within 6 months.

What other detector?

Just my thoughts, I had heard about the new coil and update a year and a half ago at least....sold my Deus over a year ago and I know so many frustrated Deus owners, who feel shafted... they all say they wish the info was never leaked or released because of such a long wait and I can understand how they feel. I'm sure a lot goes into what is coming but to wait this long gets frustrating.

Wasn't the Macro Racer Gold introduced after the Deus new updates and coils went public?

This could of thrown a spanner in the works.

The kHz right now is ok for the Deus for the goldfields but we need a smaller coil.

Why dont folks just wait till we hear from the official channels when the new coil and software will be released,i guess its better too wait a little longer and get it right rather than some of the bad detector launches of late that have been a total disaster ie the MX-S,you will always get folks that also reckon that they have inside information but even the new software may have the odd small glitch very similar i guess to what version 3 had then they bought out 3.3 and finally the operating system that most folks use 3.2.

But the main advantage with the Deus is that if any problems do arise its just a matter of hooking upto your computer to rectify the problem with a download which is alot easier than having too send it back to the factory so they can blow the new software into the machine,that has to be the way forward in the future the ability for upgrades via a usb port.

XP has a pretty good track record for getting a things right.

Just remember even if the new version is ready for release,,,the newer smaller coil has to be manufacturered.

And this new smaller coil has to be dispatched so customers can buy.

A lot of work.

Be patient.

There's a BIG "XP" bash in Nr Burford, Oxfordshire UK in September 17th thru 18th
I'd imagine it will be 'unveiled' there and then?
Even Handy Saab is going...he's looking for room but the entire place is sold out months ago!
He'll probably stay in a Hotel in Oxford?

Interestingly, "Garrett" unveiled their AT Pro to their European Distributors close to the same area and put them up in an Oxford Hotel.
So it's a big deal and sure to bring a few surprises?

It's 'tucked away' and waiting for a V.4 injection!!!
In all honesty, I never took to it.
It's got V.3.2 in now and I've been threatening to revert it to V.2.0
But "Makro Racer's" happened followed by Garrett Ace 400i, followed by Garrett AT Pro which I've been using for the past 11 days in a row.
A great detector. No fuss. Suits my style of hunting and temperament (very little iron)

At least they are offering updates to a great machine. What you are using now is ahead of the curve on the deus. they are going to offer a few things at the same time. would you rather have it have bugs or work. And technology is changing everyday so maybe they decided to not release this update until they felt they really could make some new great software updates?

I think after seeing the White's MXS debacle, XP's balls constricted a bit, thereby adding a few more month's to the test cycle....I will say the 'final' versions of hw/sw should be 'in the field' right now or something's really amiss....and I hope the wireless pinpointer is out there also....

A big smooth release with everything promised (and more), like 'bang', would be a big boost to XP....

and remember that they have internet based sw updates....what a concept, eh....

as an older, tired guy that's never owned a Deus, that would definitely get my attention...and my wallet's....

Everyone will want the new coil when the new version is finally released. Yes the new version will support the old coils, but I sincerely doubt you get a performance leap out of the old coils. Many people never liked 3.2. The idea of fixing a flaw with an update is top notch. Performance updates are more of a con. JMHO.

I wish the Minelab whiners would realize this too.

There is no update, it was all rumor!
