I don't really want one.

But would like to here maybe of some folks success stories.

And related comments.

Just like to keep abreast of newer units.

Don't need to buy all to find out.

Already starting to look like a metal detector shop here,,,if you get my drift.

Its a verys epocialized unit for Gold ..

I could see a use ifr it in relics in CERTAIN depleted sites..but it would have to be nail only sites..

and not really that much more of or if any unmasker than the Relic or Deus..in heavy iron is can be draining..

Its just in a Super high freq a Small gold hunter would love..

not sure how many small goldhunter we have on here..

would be AWESOME for Je,on a dry beach..

can hunt coins too even in a park..

really a niche Unit..Pure small gold getter..

I think Cabin fever may have posted a few time's about success with his?

One came up on Ebay from Backwood's, got it, tried it out for an hour in a schoolyard to get acquainted, scored some coins and then it went beserk--pulsing LO, LO. New batteries, 2 sets, the same. I sent it back to Detector Electronics, got it back, and as soon as I turned it on it did the exact same thing. so they sent me a module to swap out in the battery compartment--that was the cure. When I looked again at the box it was shipped in, I noticed that there was Keith Southern's name & address on an older label & Richard from Backwoods said that Keith had this one for a month, no problems.

There are some small gold diggings near where I live in Nevada where I've found very small nuggets with the GB2, GBPro, and the F-19. I went up there with the GRacer and got fooled by all the scraps of iron; seemed like the ID's were all over the place--used it in 2 tone and all-metal. Very frustrating! About to sell it. After a week or so--I decided to take the F-19 up there with the NEL Snake coil and found a 3 grain nugget where guys with GB2's and the Minelab SDC have cleaned most of the gold out. Took the GRacer back there with the small elliptical coil and scored 3 small nuggets at the head of the main gulch, the smallest being .8 grain. Then somehow I got tuned into how the iron was reading and it turns out the ID is pretty accurate. These small nuggets bounce around from 18 to 45 on the screen in either mode. The small iron is generally under 20 . hot rocks in this area are 99. The low tone in 2-tone can fool you--that where the screen and the adjustable tone break are real useful. Used it twice more there with small non-ferrous results, but no more nuggets. Next stop with the G Racer: California.

I really like this machine with the quick ground balance, accurate read-out once you get dialed in to what's what. and great 56 KHZ sensitivity. Like Keith says, it can drive you nuts in thick iron--I tried it. It does seem to use a lot of juice--you can really hear it working. On the Detector Prospector forum there are a few guys who've had coil issues, but nothing too serious. I'll be detecting some in old tailings piles, as well as exposed bedrock in hard-to-get-to places. Really is a specialty detector. And lots more Nevada detecting coming up, too.
