How on earth did you come by that conclusion when you know nothing about me or what I have done ?

EDIT:-, Just as a side note I have had access to all the XP machines ever since they first came out,

Could be jealousy/envy, could be that some people think if a detector doesn't have a 4lb control box, it must be a childs toy.

As is well known, its ultra light weight is a top selling point over other detectors, and totally wireless is awesome and incomparable with anything else on the market.
What counts when its said and done is its ability to pull metal from the ground, may not be the greatest but I'd say it ranks right up there, I cannot wait to master this thing.

It is not jealousy or envy, If I wanted one I'd buy it, I have bought 6 machines and 11 Coils in the past 12 months alone, And I have followed people using them and Dug the Targets they have missed, I just don't like toy town detectors.

They are incomparable with other detectors because other detectors can ID things correctly/Properly. Any detector that does not use off the shelf batteries is a waste of space, because once the batteries run flat you have to pack up and go home without somewhere to plug it in,, Detectors should never be restricted by a dedicated battery system.

The audio sounds of the XP's are indeed raspy souding. And if your like me with some hearing loss and tinnitus, it doesn't sound great.
In the ID department, in the large iron ID department,... well people tell you they stick their remote in their pocket.
Use the force Luke,... use the force!

Could it be, just like me, they found the numbers confusing, especially on undug and dug targets, it suddenly has a different opinion.
Remote in pocket turns the Deus into a wireless Tesoro without a pinpoint button.

In the tracking department. Ok it tracked but it wasn't deepish when used with tracking ON.
God I missed that trigger or ground grab button.

So all in all,... really hope they got things running better with V4.

Was kind of hoping the elliptical could run on the 8 kHz as well,... that would at least given us a smallish coil coupled with a coin hunting frequency.

Maybe next time. The guys who are really into the XP's are going to be very happy indeed,... they finally get their own dedicated pinpointer!

This is getting to be a bit silly now. I understand the Deus is not for you. You don't like the wireless system. You don't like the cost of the coils etc. That's understandable but you have to admit when it comes to performance it's pretty damn good. It's an excellent coin detector, it's also extremely good at pulling coins and relics from iron infested sites and once you learn the Deus it can compete with most detectors out there in depth, right?
Re: New XP info !!
September 19, 2016 09:53AM
It is a great detector. No doubt about it. But in the end I just came to realize I don't like these updates. I think a detector that has the feature is great for providing fixes and to maybe address little issues, but are these updates really that much of an improvement? Sure they can turn the Deus into a nugget machine and call it a major update as long as you spend money on the new coil. I just feel that XP has been doing the old tease for too long. Maybe it is me.
Re: New XP info !!

Personally I very much like the wireless system.

The 9" coil is fine when you're working sites not too infested in iron.
Proficient Deus users have come to embrace the Racer and it's small coil. Happily paying more for a detector/coil combo than a new Deus coil.

Depth,... not so much,... they use a silent EMI mitigation which doesn't alert the user.

Find something deep with the Deus, switch on a pinpointer, lay the pinpointer beyond detection field of the Deus Coil.
Try to find it again :-)

That's why their new pinpointer puts the Deus in standby when the pinpointer is switched on.

Silent EMI mitigation, F75 Ltd2 has a similar system,... people still can't figure out if it's ON or OFF.

XP Deus an ergonomically, lightweight, compact detecting experience making a day out detecting great fun.
Performance, repeatability, iron sifting,... buy a dedicated unit.

Mike, don't take offence I am only Clowning around with ya, and to be honest I don't like the sounds from them and one or two other bits But I think every company could change or add one or two things on every machine out there,,

I have to admit they are Great and Very successful machines and the GMP is a Great machine too and when people saw the success others were having many soon jumped ship in to the XP camp,

I got to play with the XP's when they first came out and in junk filled sites they even gave Tesoro a run for the money and I know first hand just how good they are,

I figured that had to be the case auminesweeperwere since I remember you giving the Deus some pretty high marks in the past performance wise at least.

The truth / Facts about any of the XP range, Is if you own another brand and someone turns up with one Then they are the only real threat to most other brands, I don't have that problem using the machine I have because have the coil to fine tune my machine to suit the condition, But XP Deus has had ML owners ditching their CTX's and E-tracs in favour of the Deus by the Dozen, I ditched my Sovereign GT and Etrac and Quatro after I bought my first MXT and with the cash I bought another MXT as a Back up,

The sounds and the Dedicated battery system are my only Gripes with the Deus, being a world traveller I need a machine that I can find batteries for no matter where I go, And as such this is the only thing the Relic /Racers have over the Deus,

As for the depth of the Deus, XP had a Demo day and threw out a challenge for people to bring their favourite machines and a Coin to try and beat the Deus on a Depth test, and the Deus was hitting a Coin at 17", So what ever depths people are getting from their Deus Machines they are only scratching the surface because it can and will go deep.

I haven't had the Deus for very long. I spent many hours reading the forums and watching a lot of different videos before I decided to try the Deus. So far I have found the Deus very easy to set up for my ground and hunting areas. My hunting is usually done in the winter and spring months when the underbrush in the woods thins out. Our woods are pretty thick and can be tough to swing in. Usually it's more like poking and prodding in and around and under fallen trees, underbrush and ferns. I've been detecting for over 30 years and have went through many different detectors. The Minelab Advantage and Sovereign GT have been the detectors I've been using at these sites the past 7 years. Most people would scratch there head at using a Sovereign in iron but if you really know this detector and the sounds it can make when good targets are mixed in iron you might be surprised of what you can pull out of these sites. I've pulled some really nice coins out of the nulls also. You won't be surprised at what was missed with the Sovereign either and that's where the Minelab Advantage comes in. I'm sure I will be pulling even more goodies that were left with these detectors also.

I don't now about washing pigs, but I NEVER came close to that kind of depth with my Deus. Not much better than half that on any coin and I had the 11 incher.

Sounds like you are a bit of an addict with a short attention span, don't think buying 6 machines and 11 Coils within 12 months is anything to brag about.

UK folk are suckers for expensive gadgets .. no help on silver paper wads or tops as yet ,i was expecting help on the x-y system but its still buried in the controls and hard to access

yeah they have Over taken ML in the UK and if you call Regtons they are not free with the info, I had to shoehorn that info out of them about that 17" test, But there seems to be very little info about it regarding settings, Coils etc and they did not know so I think it was done by XP HQ and one of their testers or engineers,

I hit coins pretty deep as in over 12" quite often using the 950 Coil, So I am sure the Deus has some tricks up it's sleeve.

Actually you are spot on about the Help side of things, I asked the dealers and got no where, No info no nothing,

You won't knock out bottle tops using a machine using a DD Coil without loosing wanted targets, and that is a fact,

If I remember right, when someone first found the X-Y system on their detector, Deus said it was not meant for detecting, but, something for the engineers/techs at Deus to use for calibration/testing. I doubt they will offer any help/support for it.

Yesh I think your right about that, I could not even get the settings from them that they used on the Deep Coin test, So I am in two minds about the results, I have Air tested Coins over 2 feet but I have never seen any dug at 17" in depth using standard Coils, Even a GP machine won't do that I don't think ?

I haven't had the Deus long enough to gauge it's depth limits on coin size targets in my area. I've watched videos of live digs and coin garden type tests and if set up properly it seems to get impressive depth in mild to moderate mineralization. Unfortunately I live right in the middle of the iron contaminated soil of the Pacific Northwest. I did dig a Barber dime in clean ground at about 9 inches and a gold pocket watch almost elbow deep with the Sovereign GT but that is not the norm. TID and depth on most machines on penny/dime size targets here start going down hill fast past 5 1/2 inches. That's when you have to know your detector to get the deeper coins.

I ran the GT for about 5 or 6 years and it could hit deep items but only when you leased expected it, I hit a toy Soldier with mine at a measured 17" and a few deep coin ish coins in the 8 to 10" range as for that Soldier I am not sure of it's position in the ground when I first detected but I was 17" deep when I found it, Iron filled site are where the GT suffers

Your Deus should hit a few deep targets, The trouble is when you read stories / posts about coin depths because US coins are not too detectable at depth in the 8 to 12" + range soin order to get an Idea of how deep it will work in the US it is better to read peoples Hammered Coin finds because those coins are found at similar depths.

I doubt that many detectorist have used the Deus v4 with the new coils ,since it isn't available yet. Thats what l was commenting on about passing judgement on. I suspect it will be great for my detectin needs, I like gold.
