I thought they where cracking from going from heat to water hunting?
I didn't remember reading anyone dropping them.

I can guarantee that if one drops it on concrete on the meter housing, it ain't going to be water proof any more.

The video makes out that everything has been fixed with the problems !! of course its a good demonstration but i feel it could be selective if that makes sense,in a dry environment it shows that everything works as it should, but as 'Detectorist' has mentioned its not shown being what it would be like submersing it in water upto the maximum depth that it was made for,it could produce a slightly different outcome,i am not say that a major failure 'would' happen, but its feasible of course.

The trouble is that although the major defects have been addressed, most of the 'potential' customers that the detector was aimed at have been put of buying them and the damage has all ready been done,it looks to be a very capable detector and of course the trump card is the machine is waterproof,so folks may drift back over time, but they sure as hell cannot take another major fault/design flaw as folks will jump ship and possibly never return.

I have 3 Whites machines, the DFX that i own was one of the original into the UK back 2002 if i recall the date is in the battery box anyway, had always been a loyal Whites customer, but not sure if i would buy another machine from them.

I actually don't want folks to buy the MX Sport. It's that good. I've found good targets in trash with the 10" coil that the Nokta Fors Core I had didn't recognize with its 5" coil.

Regarding the initial issues, the AT Pro had lots of them in the beginning. Now it's considered an awesome detector in its own right.

Jeez....I wonder who's Ford Ranger he was throwing it off?
I'd be mighty mad if I saw him doing that on my truck!!!

But it sure looks like it can take the drops.

I used do similar drops with the CTX and broke a few but it's a much heavier detector.

Don't know about what you're talking about. I just know that my own tests has the MX Sport passing the nail board test with the 10" coil. Don't know too many units that can do that. It also found 5 more CW bullets in a small 25'X25' area that I had killed with the AT Pro and Nokta with 5" coil. To say the least, I'm impressed. I'm not here to sell detectors. i call it as i see it. did I say I was impressed?

Don't go getting all uppity---you seem like you are always so touchy about everything.-----I was simply making the statement that it didn't appear to get all that great of separation in Whites own video.---Surprised you didn't see it--I think most of us has.-----Anyway, glad you are enjoying it & doing well with it.------BTW, the nail board test isn't the end all end all to the worlds problems!

I just got a threat to BAN me from their youtube whites video. I am done with Whites.
I am still waiting on a AudioMOD vid that actually shows it working correctly.

I have no idea why you made those disparaging remarks about me. Please read my post again in the spirit that it was written in.

If he did that with the AT Pro the control head would snap off the shaft.

You guys are brutal. Whites is trying to offer us a good detector. Sure they've had issues on the release. More than some other folks, less than others. What this video shows is that they are working like the dickens to get the problems solved but seems no matter what they do it ain't good enough or fast enough for some folks. Man!

Yep,....I would never treat any machine like that But it is a great comfort to know that they can take a "lickin" White has moved mountains to get this machine right, As to how it NOW works I can not comment but this is proof of how hard they have worked to make this machine a Seriously Tough piece of Kit, And it won't stop there because even on some of their older models they still keep working on them, So rest assured folks this machine with rise and meet every challenge you can bank on that.

A few months ago it had cracking screens, NOW it has beyond (Double) US Military Drop Test Specs, Whites has hit that problem out of the Park. Hats Off to Whites for that.

I am seriously Impressed.

John.

I don't think that it would suit my needs, The Whites machines I have excel at what ever I want to do and the coils choices I have gives me unlimited uses.

My buddy sent me this yesterday. He was relic hunting with his and kind of dropped it when he went to lay it down to dig a signal. The back end of the battery compartment broke. He has already called Whites and they are gonna take care of him; but I wouldn't put too much stock in the height drop video. He didn't drop his from no where near that height.

White's may live to regret posting that video.

Sorry for your friends woe's I would never have believed that If I had not seen that picture, I hope that is the last one we see with that problem, Seems they need to be made out of a more softer chewy type plastic then they will roll with the flow a bit better aye.
