Rutus Alter 71 english webpage. [rutus.com.pl]

The Rutus Alter71 seems to be gathering so much more traction here in the UK than what the Nokta Impact is,the folks who have bought the Rutus thus far seem too be very happy with the machine's performance.

I'd agree there Junk, it's everything i wanted the Impact to be. Not taking away from how good the Impact is, the Rutus, even with it's more confusing menu layout, offers more versatility for UK users.
Being able to upgrade via the internet is appealing with the Impact, Nokta can perhaps produce new modes or add tweaks to the pre-set modes etc but the Rutus already allows you the ability to do the same and program the detector to your exacting conditions, this is the big plus for myself, along with a stock 11" coil that more suits my needs, and a right good Concentric coil.

True! Same here on mainland Europe.
Erdogan's behaviour doesn't help either for Nokta's ambitions in the rest of the world.

I know of 2 people that were not happy with the Rutus performance both of them had issues with its performance with low conductors (not very good).

I'd agree it's not as hot as some, the GM was very sensitive to small stuff in comparison. The Rutus i feel is fine on low conductors but it's very swing speed sensitive, too fast and you'll miss the small stuff.

Yes, but Rutus is still under development and this is bright side... why? Because some PRO's still working on some software changes. Day by day. And with each update you get progress. Maybe for some time we get true multi frequency Alter platform. Near future.

What Sanjuro said about low conductors got me thinking today, so i tried the hammered penny @8" and it was actually far better than i expected, target came through load and clear, ID was iffy, but that's a very hard target in my soil.

From my Tests with the RA71, the TRICK is to:
Turn off or turn down any DISC you might have ON.

That Zero Disc gives Much Cleaner Audio return sounds and [ disregard ] the TID but [ USE & Learn ] the ID Graph (hodograph)

Alternativley, use one or two 'points' of discrimination.
NOT, Notch, as a higher Notch setting without disc is Disc really.
Discrimination corrupts the audio is what I'm trying to say.

From my USE, folks better watch out for Rutus.
This detector will definitely hunt in the iron.

Meter/screen behavior nothing like I have seen seen for helping a user make dig or no dig decisions.
I am a Deus lover too, just remember.

The rutus 71 has awesome depth. I was testing it at the lake Michigan dry sugar sand beach last week while on vac. , I buried a $5 gold coin ( size of a 5c nickle) and it nailed it in deep mode at 17" deep. Good repeatable audio.

I'm done waiting for new stuff. When it comes it comes. I'm going to use and enjoy what I have now . Tomorrow is another day.
