For anyone who may use a Nautilus detector could you please tell me what brand rechargeable batteries you recommended?

Any specific reason why the batteries on the Nautilus detectors are external ?? it looks like the machine was originally designed then the crude battery case added as a after thought,no question about it they are a unique design but perform exceptionally well in the hands of a skilled operator,its just the batteries that i have never worked out.

There like that incase the batteries leak..

Plus its easy for field changing and keep the unit from being opened..

I think its ingenious..and it's all stainless.
