The forums keep me motivated when I can't get out. The hard part is being motivated to share answers everytime a new person comes along asking the same questions we all did, learned the answers too, and shared with other new folks 20 times already. After a while you just sit back and let someone else answer.

Or watching the pete and repete go around.

This is why I only read now and not post my questions. I had a question not long ago that was followed by a post telling everyone how to use a certain search engine. That was my hint to stop asking anything. I will either find the answer eventually or figure it out for myself. But I will certainly keep reading every day as long as the experts keep posting. Have a good day fellas!

I know the post about which you are referring.

Actually it was me that posted.

I certainly wasn't posting what I did to throw any hints.

I just used your question as an example,,,,and I even had to use the search function here,,,to help answer your question.

I did remember seeing the gent with the cuff extensions,,,,but the search function saved me a whole of actual search time.

By all means ask questions here,,,,and yes learn how to use the search function too.

I use it pretty regular,,,,,this site goes back years,,,,,with lots of good info.

Something tells me I must have missed something while I was at work.

A few days ago everybody was excited and electricity in the air about new and upcoming machines, new technology, etc. There were more posts/active threads on the forum than I have seen in quite some time. Then today people are quitting the forum, selling their detectors, and getting out of the hobby.

Thanks for clearing that up! I am the type of person who will read every possible post and watch literally every video posted on a product before I make a decision. This forum is the only forum that I am active on because in my research of the Fors Relic, I found the most helpful in depth information about it on this site. I was reading posts for months on here before I even joined. After following all you guys for a while, and reading all your posts, it is like talking to,a big group of buddies. Now that I am here, everyoneis leaving? Hmm... Well, it's a good thing that there is a large archive of posts! Lol!

It's good George is taking up running (for his health hopefully). He probably already has running shoes from all the major manufacturers to test out, lol.

Lol...Not going no where right now..

I see a shift coming though..Communication wise..The next up and comer generation don't do forums..They are into social media. believe it or not..And I don't do social media that type format is what seems to work for most though..

In reference to heading out to green fields though... Leaving the world behind ..Isn't that all our dreams..You and machine on an adventure..No alarm clock to constant media or sales pitches or in your face non stop Media outlets telling us what to think..

Just enjoying life ..Doing our favorite passion..

I always said even told.my wife I've always been in Awe of the Monks who live life removed from everyone else's idea of the world..

We have a monestary here close by..What a different world those men LIVE..

Removed from the secular world yet live maybe with more passion and ideas and fulfillment than we ever will..

Good points, when I retired the clock went by the curbside...to the point often forget what day it is. HH

I don't do the silly social media either lot of fluff.

One thing about being retired,,,you will more times forget what day of the week it is.

As most days are Saturday and Sunday.

Remember those days,,,,you certainly wouldn't forget the Fridays,,,or the Mondays either.

An even balance is good, not to much forum, not too much alone time.I run into so many retired folk who were retired for a short time, then went and picked up a lesser job as they had too much free time on their hands.

I know this talk . . . . Packing it up, all the good places close to home are hunted out.

It is all code word for ROAD TRIP!

There is a warm breeze blowing today as I can hear the dripping water as the snow melts off my roof. Time to start checking for thawing patches in the old parks. Before I know it the snows in the valley will be gone and new grass will be growing. That means some of the old ghosts towns in the high desert will see spring again and the dirt roads will start drying out.

I need to finish my Minelab 550 to 180 meter conversion before the season kicks into high gear, has been several years since I did my last one. Postman delivered a little box yesterday Thought a little project would help pass the time. Need to gather some parts now.

And I put the brakes on the purchase of a ctx this summer after selling my etrac and I've been delaying the purchase of a relic machine while nokta and fisher decide whether they will introduce their new detectors or not. I have an mxt, cz and sov so I won't be without.

Lots of plans for the upcoming year. Just can't let the winter blahs get hold of my threshold adjustment or I will be in trouble

Best of luck to those heading for 'greener' pastures on your roads trips. Post your finds. Lol

Rich

I think this a lot when I have a run of no finds for a couple of week, then BAMM, a great find and I'm a got my chest out and struting around, going on 18 years now and haven't learned anything yet, but I have fun doing it

A few more months the snow will be gone, the ground will no longer be frozen, you can grab a detector and sprint about. Great time to hit the woods again before they are thick'in green, pricker bushed that are ready to put a thorn in yer side and the bugs swarm out for a meal--you. Now who can give up a springtime hunt....................

Yes agree, woods/forest/fields way more easy to hunt, but we have snow...should rain soon. hh
