no, when you have nothing new do what you can to continue selling the old. I bought an F75 11 years ago!

The industry is about to be turned upside down in 2018, I'll start saving my penny's now. This is straight from the source smileys with beer

I thought that was 2014...no wait 2015...for sure saw a presentation slide that said 2016...lol. What ever it is will be worth the wait but I think we can stop the never ending "next year" talk and just enjoy the hobby and what is actually out there and real.

Why is FT still marketing a low-end F75???

I run a service business, mostly servicing retailers, big items. Even they are being squeezed by the internet. And any retailer who is selling small items is really getting squeezed. And the economy that still seems to be contracting is putting a squeeze on our lifestyle. Its tough to be in any type of retailing now days. My hats off to anyone trying to make a go in retailing anything today! In my town of 150k population, 15 years ago you could hardly find a vacant storefront in any strip mall. Now there are vacancies everywhere. The squeeze is on.
As far as the cheaper pricing on the F75 goes.... they have just been IMPACTED, by Nokta... Competition benefits the consumer!

Couldn't agree more. The future as I see it for the next 5-10 years is in SOFTWARE. With the ultra fast processors these days, there's no reason the manufacturers can't start focusing on really tweaking their software. Over in the ham radio world, they are doing all sorts of really advanced things with DSP (Digital Signal Processing), like being able to pull out a usable signal from what, to the ear, sounds like pure static. That effectively what still needs to be done with detectors. The incoming raw data as supplied by VLF hardware is not likely to change much until the next breakthrough (still a decade or more away), so it's time to really get down and tweak that software. There are still some pretty big gains to be made in software, IMHO. I for one would drop $2K on a "new" detector that was one of the existing flagships we have now but with greatly improved software. So like Rick said, Bring It!

Aw shucks, have to wait another year!!!!????? I have heard that for years, still waiting...................Not sure if my knee can wait any longer, let alone my back.....I'm going fishing with my favorite rod and reel and fishing lures from 1995, good as anything I see today. They were top of the line back then.

DeepTech Vista X with 3 search coils.
Works for me

2018 will come and go, and the next big FT product will again be pushed out, to who knows when, meanwhile I'll be cleaning house with my Impact smileys with beer
