A band that tells the 3 days battle of Gettysburg in a song...

Turn CC on to get the words printed on bottom.

23:28 sent chills down my spine...HISTORICALLY SPEAKING..

Very Very accurate time line and lyric's

Hard to imagine the suffering that took place during that war.

Love it! I'm a metal fan. Thank god it wasn't country music... I would have become severely depressed 30 seconds in winking smiley Thanks!

yeah if you like the music even better...

But If you don't just turn down the volume or off and turn CC on either way...

I'm just glad it's someone giving history a chance no matter how they do it at least they're putting forth an effort..

I know a lot of guys who hunt don't care about the Civil War and that's fine but to really study the campaigns may just give you an appreciation of history...

the Gettysburg campaign was HUGE and was the confederate high tide mark..like I mentioned earlier the cannonade at 23.28 still sends chills when I watch the movie and this video...

Imagine 150 pieces of artillery coming to life....the thunder was so loud it was heard in Washington,

"This cannonading reached its crescendo in the afternoon of July 3, when over 150 Confederate cannons opened on the Union center on Cemetery Ridge south of Gettysburg. Historians consider this barrage to be the largest display of firepower ever exhibited in the Western Hemisphere."

The even say Washington D.C could hear it 70+ miles away???

Wonder what was going through Lincoln's mind??

Well, I don't want to be overly skeptical, but when I lived in the Washington, D.C. area,
there was a thunderstorm almost EVERY afternoon during the summer.

Maybe it was just distant thunder.

The 150 gun cannonade started at 1pm..

I'm not saying it did or didn't happen I wasn't there myself...

I have read that they heard the rumble in D.C. and the time corresponded with the barrage..

i read alot of cavalry reports and those guys usually Knew distance pretty well..I have a book on Texas cavalry and they heard the battle of Vicksburg 100 miles away ??

So I think if the atmosphere and terrain is right weird things can happen...

Thanks Wayne...tells a story very much dead on!

Hey Ray....not sure who they are LOL........... I Was looking up Confederate artillery barrage when I came across it LOL..

KISS...LOL....never was a fan....gotta say they made some cash off of advertising !!

I listen to more classic rock IF I even listen to music which is rare..

I do like 40s music and even SOME classical. really like 19th century Civil War period music!! ..something about that music makes me think of a simpler life..

I am a sucker for Skynyrd though!! Ronnie era!!

Shoveler ....Classic tune!!

I remember it like it was yesterday.

I was in elementary school.
The teacher was reading aloud about the Civil War.
(What my family referred to as, "The War of Northern Aggression".)

She read aloud the scene after after Gettysburg.

And I quote...............

"In all directions,....as far as the eye could see,....the dead were stacked three deep"

I started crying.

They sent me to the office.

Not a single person understood why I was crying.

My mom had to come pick me up.

She understood.

She didn't say a word.
She just held me tight, and we went home.
I spent the rest of the day with her.

The house was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

I won't forget that day for the rest of my life.

here I am 60 years old,.... and I'm crying.

sorry
