NOKTA IMPACT/DI99 ON CLEANUP DUTY BEHIND DEUS

Hey all,

today I took the Impact back to the same site I hunted yesterday with the Deus just to see what I could sift from the iron that the Deus may have missed.

Used DI99, 0 everything/wide open, 80 sens, stock 8x11 coil. Targets were anywhere from 3" to around a foot deep

This site has moderate/heavy iron infestation - some areas lighter than others and vice/versa which is why I used the stock/larger coil. I only use the small one when it's complete machine gun iron everywhere.

Didn't do too bad today (not as many buttons/etc. as yesterday) but the Impact slammed a few keepers that were missed as I re-hunted the same ground/area

Worth mention:
1865 Injun
1863 Fatty Injun
Nice Eagle I coat button (goes with the cuff found yesterday)
another toe tap,
nice suspender clip
couple period civilian buttons
2 spent rimfire cartridges
etc.

the Impact likes weird shapes and ROUND..

Like I mentioned in your earlier thread on DEUS..the DEUS is a monster on ROUND Mid to low Buttons in iron but can Leave Weird shapes ..

Impact Seem's to prove that!

I found that Eagle I button about 1 ft away from a dig hole from yesterday!

And that suspender buckle/clip was about a foot deep but the Impact nailed it hard = the depth these VLF's get with stock coil is impressive to say the least

Good report,MRH----keep up the reports--luv to read'em.

So I think it is safe to say that no one detector can do it all but when you have two that are cleaning up it seems to me a good idea to keep them both and work them both on the same ground...great finds my season is just about over...Would like to have a 5x10 coil for the impact..

Yep - infantry

I used DI99 due to the amount of iron present in the site

20-Khz on Impact should 'match' (and/or exceed) the Deus for small/low conductors.

Ive been keeping my eye on this Impact. I just havnt pulled the trigger on one yet lol

Someone doesn't seem to know how to operate the Deus. How about trying the Impact first and then do cleanup with the Deus. You're missing too many targets for some reason.

I am sure "WE" have all gone over an area with one machine and then gone over the area with another machine and still made finds.

Judging by the amount of people here who have done exactly that I have no reason to doubt what MichiganRelicHunter is saying, We have all done that at one time or another and after we have gone over the site with a new machine a few times the finds tend to dry up again,

There is no reason to make it personal, MichiganRelicHunter does have the skills needed and he has put in the hard yards, So lighten up folks give him a break, This is supposed to be a Hobby not a life or Death situation.

Makes sense to me..

especially if you're trying to cherry pick...

the DEUS does not have the best ID system....excellent unmasking in thick iron on small non ferrous to be sure but the ID is mediocre at best..

I like to use a DEUS or GMP on certain sites and those are usually hard hunted depleted sites...
