5/4/17 Nokta Impact and EMI
May 04, 2017 03:32PM
On the outset, I had bad EMI in three different spots. Yesterday. I went to one of the spots and tried everything I could to create the severe EMI issue I had before. Except for some mild chatter, I could not replicate it even at a 95 gain in di2. One(or all) of four factors were at work here:

I did not use the headphones that came with the pro-pack. I left them at home.

I updated the machine with the 5/2/17 update. The machine may have had the wrong software to begin with and the update brought it current.

I changed batteries from Duracells to the ones that came with the machine(99% sure this WASN'T the reason).

The EMI that was there before wasn't present now. It may have been that there was something that was running at the time I was not aware of.

More testing is needed here and I am working on it.

I get EMI at times also and use a different program and it goes away for a small about of time but comes back...I just keep hunting and wait for a hit and dig and try and tune out the sputter of EMI...

If you don’t dig it, then how are you going to know what you’re missing!
How can you have your pudding if you don’t eat your meat!

There seems to be two types of reactions on the machine to EMI.

One is a slight smattering of tones(barely audible) and NO TID jump. I would consider this the normal "sparkiness" of running a high gain on like a Di2 or DEEP. I have no issues with this as you can turn down the gain or even get used to it(My Racer 2 is like that). This is the type I had yesterday. Im fine with this.

The other is a sputtering of tones and an all over the place TID. This is loud and unbearable. I consider this "Bad EMI". This is the one that popped up before(and I hope it doesn't come back LOL).

The second one you are describing SHOULD NOT be happening.
Let me know if it does and we will resolve it. If it is, we will replace the unit.
