Waterproofing a compadre

Hey guys, so I'm deciding that I want to waterproof my tesoro compadre with the 8" coil. I know I can Google search it, but I'm curious if any of you know a specific thread thats a step by step (like what materials used, what housing) in order to do it. Id definitely appreciate it

Couple photos of mine here. I've since added a on/off toggle
Plano guide series case. Mounts for the faceplate are folded PVC epoxied in place.
Pole mounts are PVC shaped with a heat gun.
May add headphones at some point but the speaker is plenty loud in the case.
If it's too windy to hear it's usually too rough to be out.
There is enough coil wire between the strain relief and circuit board to
cut and solder/splice together. That way you don't risk overheating
anything on the circuit board. I used a strain relief/gland nut I ordered
from Mouser electronics but I'm pretty sure the factory one would work.
A little 3M 5200 sealant on the holes for cable and switch to ensure
it doesn't leak.
Super affordable fresh water killer.
I leave the disc at minimum and suffer the hooks and hairpins.
Still hits on the tiny gold chains and earrings when it's below iron.

Not the best photos but I hope it helps.

Here's one I did a while back. Should be enough in the photos to build one.

Good idea as they love gold jewelry....years ago Turtle and Tesoro came out with a combo Silver Turtle which basically was silver sabre in waterproof turtle box.
Unfortunately never caught on and discontinued...

An issue i have is my 8" coil version has the cable hardwired and I would like to make mine submersible. Makes it tough

Mine was hard wired as well.
Once you remove the faceplate , tilt the circuit board forward.
There is a couple inches of the four wires of the coil between the board and the strain relief.
Cut them in the middle and you will have enough to solder back together once installed in the new case.
