Is there an aftermarket depth meter for a CZ?

In my view, the biggest weakness of the CZ is that it will not give a depth reading without pinpointing. I realize that it is possible to correlate depth with the faintness of the tone; however, I'd much prefer a continuously reading depth meter. Does such a meter exist, and if not, is it possible for a hobbyist to create one?

It's way more involved than just a 'meter' on this analog unit.

If you don't need the dwell it's pretty straight forward, you can put an analog meter on your speaker output.

If you want some sort of dwell you could look into an LED array that holds a peak momentarily, similar to a digital "VU" meter of an 80s-90s stereo.

I have attached a video link to show you what I mean. At around the 2:45 minute mark you can see the meter with the hold function. LED VU
