Anyone here use a CZ3D with 5" coil? If so......

how did you like using it?
I realize the depth isn't as good as an 8" coil....however, I'm willing to bend on this because
I'm interested in trying one in an area where the 8" coil shouldn't be used.....if I can find one.....

once you use one in trash you would not be without it..

On a well tuned CZ the depth is very good for its size,
Great in trash.

I probably do about 50 to 60% of my hunting with the 5" coil. It's been really good in trash, with less falsing at at higher sensitivity, and handles rusty nails better that the 8" coil. Depth is about 2-3" less that the 8" coil, but that is still plenty. Here's a video I did with the CZ-3D & 5" coil using Monte's nail board:

Perfect in trashy areas.... and great depth!!! I have all 3 coils and like them all with my CZ-3D... the video is a little disturbing seeing it wont read the coin right beside the nail........... any suggestions anyone??

Both of my CZ's do excellent with the 5" coil especially in trashy areas. My 3D will get a dime easily at 8" and the 70Pro at least that, of course the 3D is a extra deep machine and air tests a dime at 12", Tom calibrated it. I have low min. soil here in SE Mi. That 5" coil will surprise you!

Im also thinking on getting one, I have alot of foundation sites i need to get up close and personal with. cleaned them out with the stock and the 10.5, may as well go 3 for 3,
